Canada is going to get whacked again, at least for the next 150 days or so. People know how Trump operates in the "the wall just got 10 feet higher" mode.

The Latest

  • U.S. President Donald Trump announced a new 10 per cent global tariff after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled he overstepped his authority when he brought sweeping levies into effect last year.
  • An angry Trump took questions from reporters, calling the plaintiffs "sleazebags" and saying that he was "ashamed" of some Supreme Court justices.
  • Trump also took a shot at Canada and the country's auto sector in his remarks. He said the country "ripped us off for 30 per cent of our market" and claimed that Mexico has ripped the U.S. off, too.
  • Auto, steel and aluminum tariffs have been the most damaging to Canada's economy. Those all remain in place.
  • CBC News is trying to clarify if CUSMA-compliant goods will be exempt from Trump's new global tariff.

Yeah, this was the outcome if SCOTUS did what hey did today, there are other statutes to use.

/----/ This was always Plan B. Now get Congress to get off their asses and set the tariffs.

Imagine losing to this Supreme Court which is a right wing Supreme Court.

Obviously "Bribe me" Thomas voted for Trump, Thomas would vote for anyone who throws money his way. But even Gorsuch voted for this and he was a Trump nominee.

But the funny thing is REPUBLICANS have been complaining about the president using powers that he shouldn't use for a long, long time. Let's see how they react to this one.

And Amy Coney Barrett.

You are talking to the.wrong guy, I live in a creepy covert police state iin which police enforce a caste, control the courts and laugh at our Charter. Corruption is our middle name and I am sure we grease a few U.S politicians palms around the world since no one cares.

Or you just play the victim a lot.

No, I live in an unaccountable police state. We exported some of this corruption to your country and we created a monster as now China and others engage in a heavier manner (especially in NY and Cali). Your authorities clearly do not care and thus the communists say, "damn this is easy". In China they put corrupt politicians to death as they do not want to sink their nation. Meanwhile in Canada our police apparatuses are highly corrupt, dishonest and unaccountable. You will experience our systen soon also...

And again, you play some kind of victim.

You are going to learn that America was being played by so many of your "allies". Most of you will do your part like Good Little Germans unfortunately. The survival of the West is in peril. Canada as a nation has a lower per capita GDP than Alabama. This is because we destroy our citizens ambitions and pursuits to.prop up an unaccountable Security Industrial Complex, similar to the old Soviet Union. You are just another cog who nods their head without understanding just how different our nations are thanks to broad police corruption...

Actually it was the US doing the playing. But anyway.

Really? How so?

Let's start with Bolivia and the World Bank, shall we?

"The privatization of water supply and sanitation in Bolivia took place during the second mandate of Bolivian President Hugo Banzer (1997–2001) in the form of two major private concessions:"

"The World Bank and the International Development Bank highlighted water privatization as a requirement for the Bolivian government in order to retain ongoing state loans."

"It is argued that the privatization process did little to address water access and that the increase in water prices following such measures was met by an approximate 2% increase in levels of poverty."

The companies that benefited from this weren't American. But it was the World Bank that said "if you want the money, you need to privatize". And the Bechtel Corporation made money from this. Poor people ended up paying more for money so rich westerners could get richer, so the rich people in government could get more money to not make thing better for poor people.

The same thing happened with the dairy industry. Profits left the country, people paid more, were left with less, just so rich westerners could benefit from this.

Many foreign companies have US shareholders. I think we're discussed Canadian oil before, where I showed you that the major Canadian oil companies.

Enbridge Inc is the biggest,

5.09% is owned by the Royal Bank of Canada which is a publicly traded company

The Royal Bank of Canada owns 5.22%
Vanguard owns 4.84%

Then the second largest shareholder of the Royal Bank of Canada is Vanguard.... so, they own shares of the largest shareholder of the largest oil company in Canada....

And they own the second most shares in the largest oil company in Canada.

Who is Vanguard? Well it's a US Asset management company.

And you think this doesn't play out all over the world?

BP is the largest UK oil company.

Fisher Asset Management, LLC owns 2.51% and American company.

The largest asset managers, top 7 are US companies, then there's Crédit Agricole with the largest company owning them being SAS Rue la Boétie, which seems to not be American. Then another 8 US companies in the top 20 in the world, that's 15 of the top 20 companies owning shares in loads of foreign companies.

This is Blackrock, the largest asset company in the world

Shares in loads of companies that go abroad and make loads of money from foreign markets.

We could also talk about the Iraq War and the amount of money the US spend, and the US made money from the Iraq War.

I could go on all day, finding the evidence of where the US makes its money. The British were paying the US back for WW2 well into the 21st century, even in WW2 the US was out to make money.

Then Trump goes and puts tariffs on the UK which has a trade imbalance with the US, why? Because Trump's a ******* asshole. Doesn't understand any of this. All he understands is bullying to make money because the **** has been doing that his whole life.
