Trump tariffs would increase the price of cars made by US automakers by over $2K: Wells Fargo

Dems want to force everyone to buy an EV at twice the cost of a gas engine car... they want to outlaw older cars as well and they say Trump will raise the cost of cars???
Twice the cost, interesting, considering Biden implemented a 100% tariff on EV's from China. Dollar to a damn doughnut you didn't know that.

WHOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't you love leftist "logic", folks?

And their cute little tap dancing?
You know what, you actually responded.

Then when asked a question with a SIMPLE answer, you deflect.
It's you doing the "Tap Dancing."

So answer the question. Since these parts can indeed be made in the USA, why do manufacturers still use foreign parts?

The POINT was that cars are indeed made with a variety of parts made "Outside" the USA.

Since these parts can indeed be made in the USA, why do manufacturers still use foreign parts?

Can you answer that please?
And your answer was ...... WHOOOSSSSSSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We can play with words all day but he's still YOUR PRESIDENT and will be for FOUR LONG YEARS.

This makes us very happy.

Now it's your turn.

Look, I am going to tell you what these proposed tariffs are all about, .we been there, done that. These are not going to be across the board tariffs. Some companies will get an exemption, just like the tariffs from Trump's previous tenure as president. Stroke a hundred thousand dollar check to his inauguration committee, most of that going to his kids as they grift off it, well yeah, he might give you an exception. Book a couple of floors at one of his hotels for a "business convention", yeah, you might get an exemption. Have a retreat for your top executives at one of his golf courses, well, possibly, you might get an exception.

Congress needs to grow a pair of nuts. Pass a law, NO FAWKING EXCEPTIONS. Chance of that happening is Slim to none, and Slim left down. But if they don't, then it is the president picking winners and losers. Seems I heard all you on the right complain about that while Obama was president. Why is it not problem now. Hypocrites.

Not just cars. Lots of goods will cost more. Because at the end of the day, corporations will not swallow the higher import/export and distro costs....and they'll pass them on to...well us. :)

WRONG again, Jack, because all of your misinformation is based on the lie of this being business as usual when if fact it forces CHANGE.
  • First, it makes items too expensive to sell in the USA forcing consumers to shop elsewhere.
  • Foreign makers must then trade fairly with us to remove tariffs if they want to continue using US markets, problem solved.
  • The US benefits from much better export trade.
  • If they refuse, we move manufacturing here bypassing need for them wholly, problem solved.
  • A $2,000 increase on cars is far less than the increase we have already seen from being forced to switch to foreign made EVs.
This is all a win-win for the USA and a lose-lose for everyone else.

That’s fine. I have no problem paying more IF the product is made by an American company using American materials, assembled by American workers in an American factory.
Yes, and we'll have more money because we'll be pumping and drilling fossil fuels. Inflation will decrease, fuel prices will go down and the cost of goods will go down.

“Donald Trump said he'd put in place 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian imports upon taking office.

This would push up prices for US-assembled cars by an average of $2,100, according to Wells Fargo.

Mexico's president said her country would retaliate in kind to tariffs, impacting joint ventures.”

And you voted for Trump because of the price of eggs.
Americans are stupid enough to pay 100k for an F150 so whats a couple thousand more.

IF they don't stop the drugs and illegals from coming into America

You really don't pay attention to history much, do you? You just parrot right wing talking points. If you knew at least a bit of history, you'd remember that the first administration to print money and run up deficits...was a Republican one. :)
Today's date is November 28, 2024.

Democrat leadership is simply afraid President Trump's plans and policies will work. In fact, as you know, they're working already.

And is it your BELIEF that 100% of an-American Made Auto or Truck has 100% of it's parts made in the USA?
Cars made in the US have parts that may have crossed the Canada and/or Mexico borders as often as 10 times. What happens if those parts get charged a 25% tariff every time they cross?

Americans are stupid enough to pay 100k for an F150 so whats a couple thousand more.
As you know, other countries pay far more for an F150. You have to add on their 20-25% VAT tax. You know, the one that pays for their "free" second rate healthcare

Wells Fargo? They must still be pissed at Trump for costing them 3 billion. :laughing0301:

Wells Fargo Agrees to Pay $3 Billion to Resolve Criminal and Civil Investigations into Sales Practices Involving the Opening of Millions of Accounts without Customer Authorization

This is STILL being litigated?

Actually, this would employ more American jobs for us to keep the inflation down. Plus more people employed on our side of the border prospers the American economy. Trump knows more about prospering the American economy, and he has proven time and time again. Don't you ever read the business sections in the newspapers? LOLOLOL!

And if the company making the parts does not want to build a new facility in the US? Then what? The sheer cost and time to do that aside, you may also run into patent and copyright issues that would force the car companies to alter design of components.

And I don't see car companies moving whole assembly lines away from Canada and Mexico. Takes too long and costs too much.
