You have no idea why Trump was elected. It was because of the Republican establishment and the progressive socialists. Practically all of his agendas are what practically of the political class in Washington have triumphed at one time or another. The swamp is real. And he had to take some in to his administration or they proved to be so. Two years ago he offers an infrastructure opening in his Capitol building speech and the progressives sat on their hands. Now that they have won the House, there may be one. But it tells you that the party agendas comes before the people. Paul Ryan brags at all they were going to do and was a obstructionist. And if the Repubs win back the House with Trump the president in 2020 McCarthy is rumored to be the same as Ryan and Boehner. You got Trump elected.

In todays’ academic environment years can be spent warping an otherwise intelligent individual into a complete moron. In fact since the M BA’s took over running most universities entire institutions can be turned into idiot factories. Or as Lady Bracknell warned us in ’The Importance of Being Ernest’ “Nowadays that is no guarantee of respectability"
It’s long overdue the market realised the political and economic climate are no long able to fully explain market movements. The increasing takeover of buying and selling by automated instantaneous software is warping price movements in ways we cannot predict or begin to understand. Not just on the floor of the exchange ( which sadly is now only a theatre) but in so many areas of previously human activity artificial so called intelligence is running amok. We are fools not to be very afraid.

I agree, ever since the conservatives convinced Americans that taxes and education are evil, our education system has become a laughing stock compared to when I went to school.
I went to school before the conservative changes to schools that destroyed most of them.
I'm not a child. I was born in Eisenhower's last year in office so I've seen a lot of changes through the years and a lot of them have not been positive.
America's priorities have really been destroyed by conservative greed. Some states don't even have the money to keep their public k-12 schools open a full school year. Others depend way too much on popular sports such as football to bring in money to fund their programs. So those sports are given priority over a proper education.
Schools have to rely on bake sales and wrapping paper sales or a number of other fund raisers just to be able to afford proper programs, books and equipment for the students. Not just k-12 but also higher education.
Funding for higher education such as colleges and universities have been cut by states to give the rich and business big tax breaks and give aways. So many colleges and universities have to rely on football revenues to properly fund other programs.
It wasn't like that when I went to school. Nor was our education system so political. It was about the education, not how the school can find enough funds to keep programs going.
Teachers and professors were highly respected, properly well educated and paid.
Today a proper education is disrespected. Teachers aren't properly paid a living wage so the schools don't attract good teachers. Both at the k-12 and higher education.
I asked you where you went to school. You didn't reply. I have to now believe that you didn't go to college or a university or a trade school. If you had, you would have proudly stated so.

I'm sorry but there's a difference between deficit and debt. You've posted numbers on the national debt. Not the budget deficit.
There can be a deficit to anything. What is usually meant by the deficit is our budget deficit. That's when expenses are subtracted from the revenues and there's not enough money to pay the expenses. That's a deficit. So we have to borrow that money. That deficit is added to the national debt at the end of the fiscal year which is September 30th of every year. So far trump has doubled the deficit. It's set to hit and surpass a trillion in 2019.
The bush boy took the zero deficit, balanced budgets with surplus that Clinton handed him and never once wrote a balanced budget while president. He exploded the deficit from zero with hundreds of billions in surplus to 1.4 trillion by the time he left office. It was a new historic high. You have to go way several decades to find a republican president who wrote a balanced budget,
Obama took that 1.4 trillion in deficit and slashed it by nearly 1 trillion down to 400 and something billion in 8 years.
He was handed the worst economic collapse since the last republican Great Depression. Yet Obama was able to save us from another republican Great Depression and while he didn't have enough time to completely remove that deficit. He slashed it by nearly 1 trillion dollars.
Every time we get a republican president they pass huge tax cuts for the rich and big business while at the same time spend like there's no tomorrow adding all of it to our national debt. They spend like drunken sailors, set new record highs in spending, deficit and debt.
They are the most economically and socially irresponsible people in our nation.
Overall I am pleased with what he is doing. He's made some mistakes, but overall his performance is good.

He kept his wars off the books but when Obama became president all of it was added to the general budget. It brought the national debt to 13 trillion dollars.
Obama took that 13 trillion up to 19 trillion.
If Obama had done about the same as the bush boy, which was more than doubling the debt, the national debt would have been 26 trillion dollars.
Yes Reagan took our national debt from 800 and something billion to over 2.6 trillion dollars. Which is more than triple of what he was handed by Carter. Reagan set the precedence of huge tax cuts for the rich and business while spending very much out of control. Leaving huge historic highs in deficits and debt behind.
You have to go all the way back to Eisenhower to find an economically responsible republican president.
And here’s were the American right falls flat on it’s face. This delusion that politics consists of nothing more than black and white, left and right allows both sides to fall into the trap of overly simplistic thinking. There are millions of Americans who would be very surprised to be called ‘left’ who have for generations voted Democrat. It’s time Americans realised that gov’t supported public education and medicine aren’t a slippery slope to communism. It’s as if the blind obsessions of the McArthy era are still alive.

I’m just trying to understand what you said. Are you saying obama did such a great job of decreasing the deficit that he only increasrd the debt by 10 trillion dollars? I’d hate to think how much he would have increased the debt if he hadn’t decreased the deficit so much. I think I understand now.

I'm saying that democratic economic policy of higher taxes on the rich and big business and spending cuts is much more responsible. When we have democratic presidents we get higher taxes on the rich and big business and slower spending. Democrats actually try to pay for what they buy. Republicans just spend and add it all to the national debt while cutting taxes on the rich and big business. They create very bad bubbles that always end up with recession and either the edge of economic collapse or actually take us over that edge. Republicans use "creative" accounting and schemes to artificially inflate our economy with it always ending up the same. Economic collapse and either recession or depression.
Obama decreased the deficit. You can't decrease the debt without first eliminating the deficit. All you're doing is adding to the debt if you still have deficits. Do you understand simple economics 101?
Obama didn't add 10 trillion dollars to the national debt. He added 6 trillion.
Learn about economics and truth before you make such wild claims.
