The link doesn't work for me, but the thing about Nixon is that when the Plumbers got started it wasn't about elections. Yes Nixon met with Madam Chaing Kay Sheck (sp) to get the S. Vietnamese to pull out of peace talks. And that was illegal. If Maddow was making that comparison ... probably apt imo. But I doubt she is that discriminating.

Nixon illegally wiretapped and ordered burglaries and theft of documents. But what got Nixon impeached was his belief that anything the Potus orders to protect American security and for policy is legal. That what normally was a crime was not a crime because of the motivation and the office of President. And Nixon was hardly alone. Marc Felt and the FBI were up to it in there asses too. Not only did he cause the Dornans to walk free, I think the Black Panthers could make a wrongful death claim.
