President Donald Trump has signed an executive order reinforcing an already existing federal law requiring English-language proficiency as a requirement for commercial motor drivers. In the ordered issued April 28, Trump contends the “requirement has not been enforced in years, and America’s roadways have become less safe.”

Thank you, Mr President -- and it's about G...D... time.
I cannot begin to tell how about amazingly impossible it is to communicate with some of these guys.
Basic communications skills are a -necessity- in the transportation industry - for safety, for efficacy, for everything.

That's what posters said yesterday in the one or two other threads.

The roads are not less safe because people don't speak English while they drive.

I was at US Foods making last pick of the day. There was another local driver ahead of me waiting to get in and a foreign roadie backing in. The other local said he had been there 15 minutes waiting for this guy to hit the dock. I waited another 15 before getting out, stood in front of him and motioned which way to turn the wheel and he was finally in. After the other local loaded and left I hit the dock and a person from the warehouse thanked me and said the guy had been there an HR alrdy. After hearing that I was surprised his truck wasnt banged up. Go to almost any business district here there will be mostly banged up
road tractors parked all over instead of at a residence or company lot.

Right?

I love the phone calls.
If you can make out 1 word in 8 you're doing well.
I simply tell them I cannot understand what they are trying to say, and have someone else call back.
