Opinion | Kennedy Center cancellations aren’t about ‘Trump derangement syndrome’
The string of cancellations places artistic integrity over commercial considerations, something likely hard to understand for Trump’s appointees.
If a cultural organization, responsible for selling entertainment, fails at it's task, then it's leadership, I.e., its board of directors and chairman should be fired and replaced with cultural experts who know how to run and manage such an organization. Putting Trump in charge of the Kennedy Center as well as besmirching it's venue by plastering his name on the facade is a prescription for failure.
With renowned artists cancelling events and seats 40% empty, it's time to clean house. If an artist does not want his name associated with bigoted oppressors and anti-DEI, MAGA acolytes, he is well within his rights to refuse to be a party to such rif raff. Trump & company clearly do not know what they are doing!
Bigly!!!
