President Donald Trump said Tuesday evening that the interim authorities in Venezuela will be turning over between 30 million to 50 million barrels of oilto the United States.

Trump, in a social media post, said the oil will be sold at its market price, “and that money will be controlled by me, as President of the United States of America, to ensure it is used to benefit the people of Venezuela and the United States!”

Apparently, the US will divide the oil revenue between the US and Venezuela. So, the next question is whether remnants of the Maduro regime will now be allowed to remain in power. Sounds like a bribe. If so, does that mean the US will no longer care about the regime shipping drugs to the US? I thought the primary purpose of the military strike was to stop the drugs flowing!

Venezuela is falling apart at the seams. Oil revenues are the only income keeping the nation financially afloat. More chaos is inevitable.

We will see.

You really think we will stop blowing up drug boats just because Maduro was arrested? If the Venezuelan government does not take swift action to curb cartels, we will. Whoever ends up leading the country will already have a good understanding of what we expect and what happens if those expectations are not met.

You think so. I am not sure. Trump may be satisfied with oil from Venezuela and all is forgiven,

That's it? They have 300 billion barrels in reserve so this is peanuts.

Cut off Chinas supply or control it through U.S lead companies so that if needed it can be cut off.

Leverage for rare earth. China still has Russia and Iran but Iran is unreliable. Uncle Vlad alone cannot supply all of China's energy need.

Yep, the first step in long term security begins with ending narco-states and reducing outside influences like China. We also need to disengage from Europe and Asia and focus closer to home.

You cannot disengage from Asia. China would run rampant.

So what if they do? The interventionist attitude has done nothing for us. We need to become the neutral arbitrator outside of our hemisphere, while leading by example within it. Globalization has failed, that ended up strengthening China while weaken us. Time for a new approach. One without long term foreign entanglements.

I am surprised he is not going for the full 321 million barrels needed to refill the Strategic Oil Reserve to capacity. But, if he plans to control the resources of that country, I guess he does not have to refill the Strategic Oil Reserve.

Of course we will if the drug runners pay the proper amount to certain people. Trump pardoned that Honduran drug kingpin. Wonder what changed hands for that.

Ah yes. Isolationism can be fun. Worked so well in the 1930's.

Unlikely, everything Trump is doing points to a larger plan that involves securing this hemisphere and eliminating narco-states. It all comes back to America first. You can't secure the country if you don't secure the whole hemisphere. That includes Greenland and ultimately Canada.

Maduro was an example. The successor better play nice or she is next. Trump isn't Obama or Biden.
As in take their little piece of the pie, and let the fossil fuel corporations run rampant in Venezuela, no environmental regulations, and the people of Venezuela can continue to live as they did under Maduro.

Venezuela stole 100 times that amount when they confiscated the oil, equipment, and property from the American companies doing business there when the commies took over.

What isolationism? There is engagement through commerce without the need for intervention. Eliminating all of our long term foreign entanglements would open us up to greater opportunities, not less.

Stop watching the damn VIEW already! Your little brain has been washed until there is nothing remaining.
No discernible electrical activity coming from your head.

America is a great place. In fact, if it weren't for you insane leftists it would be a spectacular place!
