More likely, people don't understand that "the hard way" doesn't necessarily mean "nuke the planet".

Economic, geopolitical, and security assurance pressures can be effective at accomplishing goals without shooting anyone, but by making them uncomfortable and requiring some tough decisions. Heavy weighs the crown and all that.

They might want to read the National Security Strategy for 2026, because it's not a ******* secret.
