What it says on the tin. The is a major problem for Thune as it would require killing the Filibuster. Thune knows that goes both ways...as early as next year.

Trump says he won’t sign any bills into law until SAVE Act passes

President Trump on Sunday threatened to not sign any bills into law until the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America Act is approved by the Senate, doubling down on his push to change voting requirements ahead of the midterm elections.

“I, as President, will not sign other Bills until this is passed, AND NOT THE WATERED DOWN VERSION – GO FOR THE GOLD: MUST SHOW VOTER I.D. & PROOF OF CITIZENSHIP: NO MAIL-IN BALLOTS EXCEPT FOR MILITARY – ILLNESS, DISABILITY…,” the president wrote in his Sunday morning Truth Social post.

Good. He hasnt passed anything other than tax cuts in both administration.

Nope. Just enforce the talking filibuster.
Same thing. Then its a talking filibuster when MAGA is in the minority.

Myself, its not in the Constitution so to me the Filibuster is fundamentally unDemocratic. A talking filibuster is less unDemocratic, and more entertaining.

Democrats can’t pass any bills

Trump will be sitting on Republican legislation

It is in the Constitution. The Constitution grants the ability for Congress to make it's own rules.

Just curious...

Isn't DHS (ICE and CPB) under a "government shutdown"? Meaning most are working but without pay?

So if Congress passes funding, Trump won't pay his own people?

That will go over well.

Yup

Yup. I would love to see Schumer and Booker and Schiff get up there and talk for weeks about how voter ID is racist, when 80% of the country supports it.

The right seems to think the passage of the Save Act is some sort of magic bullet. In reality, it won't change any election outcome.
Then it should not be a problem to ensure the protection of the vote.

The end of computer voting would be the biggest issue. How can America hope to maintain super power status if you allow such a risk to remain?

I wonder if Trump realizes that if Congress is in session the bill becomes law after 10 days regardless if he signs it or not?

Otherwise Congress has to go home which would be another win/win.

Trump being Trump. If congress send him something he likes, he'll sign it.

I think the clear implecation here is that Trump would veto the law, not sign it as approved.
