Trump's been telling people that this democracy is not really a democracy. He's pushed for gerrymandering, which reduces the power of people's votes. It could get to the point where you have Democratic states and Republican states, whichever party manages to gerrymander the swing states first will be the party that wins. There will be no point in voting ever again.

Close states in 2024 in the presidential election were Michigan, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Nevada and North Carolina.

Michigan has a slight majority for the Republicans right now. If they were to gerrymander that they could control the state forever.

PA is being gerrymandered. 51% of the votes went Republican but they have 58% of the seats. In 2022 they had 47% to Dems 52% and 9 seats to the Dems 8. In their state House the Reps got 47.3% and the Dems 52.45% and the Reps got one seat more than the Dems.

Georgia is also gerrymandered. 52% for the Reps in the fed House and 64% of the seats. In their state House it was 54% for the Reps and they got 55.5% of the seats. But in 2020 they got 51% of the vote and 57% of the seats. It's not that gerrymandered, but enough to make it comfortable at the moment, but they have the power to change that.

Nevada is gerrymandered for the Dems, 37% of the votes in the fed House and 75% of the seats.

North Carolina is the most gerrymandered hole in the country. For the Republicans.

Four out of five are basically ripe for, or already have, Republican gerrymandering.

That's not Trump being direct. That's the Republicans cheating. And with what Trump's said about Texas, it's pushing it all towards a lack of democracy.
