Trump Running For A Third Term

I never realized that you were such a jokester and thought you were more serious.
Dude, half my posts here are meant sarcastically.

Comparing Trump to Zelensky in a joke that has no punchline or humor that I can see?
Because it was a joke. Want me to line up ten people here and ask them if they knew I was being sarcastic and wasn't serious? I bet you are the only person here who did not get that I was kidding.

Maybe sarcasm, but you know that /s does NOT translate well on the Web and often is not funny in the political world.
That is why I usually add emojis and hope that folks actually follow my posts. I try to make it pretty obvious when I'm kidding from serious--- using emojis + making comments so absurd that they cannot be taken any other way than as a joke--- which is kinda what I thought I was doing with the Zelenskyy remark.

I was actually kidding on the square about how Zelensky just stopped elections in perpetuity. I can kind of see the democrats actually trying something like that.

It's ok.

I can add this to my understanding of who you are and I had less of an understanding before... no problemo. My bad. :)

The 22nd Amendment limits U.S. presidents to two elected terms, or a maximum of 10 years if they take over part of another president’s term.

The 22nd Amendment was ratified on February 27, 1951 to prevent any president from serving more than two terms in office, a rule made official after Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected four times during the Great Depression and World War II laws.comlaws.com+1. Before this, presidents could serve unlimited terms, though George Washington and others voluntarily stepped down after two terms WikipediaWikipedia.
Key points simplified:
  • Two-term limit: No one can be elected president more than twice. The terms do not have to be consecutive legalclarity.orglegalclarity.org.
  • Partial term rule: If a vice president or other successor serves more than two years of a predecessor’s term, that counts as one of their two allowed elections. If they serve two years or less, it does not count legalclarity.orglegalclarity.org+1.
  • Maximum service: A president can serve up to 10 years in total—two full terms plus up to two years of a predecessor’s term legalclarity.orglegalclarity.org.
  • Exemptions: The amendment did not apply to Harry Truman, who was president when it was ratified, so he could have run again if he chose Constitution of The United StatesConstitution of The United States.
Purpose: The amendment was designed to prevent the concentration of power in one individual, ensure fresh leadership, and formalize the two-term tradition started by George Washington laws.comlaws.com+1. It also safeguards against presidents creating long-lasting political dynasties.
In short, the 22nd Amendment ensures that no U.S. president can hold office indefinitely, balancing continuity with democratic ro

I’d prefer term limits being imposed upon congress. And before someone mouths off about them having term limits via not being re-elected, that same argument could be used for the POTUS.

I am all for limits on all government workers but on the other end. No one can have any government job unless they have ten years working in the private sector.

Hey Rope, if I took the world too seriously, I might go insane, because things are so cracked up anymore as to be unbelievable.

Sure ain't the 21st Century we were promised back when I was a kid.

It's UNCONSTITUTIONAL.

End of Story!
As usual, you have a comprehension problem. I'm asking everyone on the left to okay changing the Constitution to 3 terms. If you were for it, and Republicans were for it, it gives you an easy win in 2028, right? Or, are you scared to death that Trump would actually win a third term?

The one and only defense of your pedophile president was old 10 years ago. Do you have anything new or less idiotic? Yes, TDS is so easy to spell a MAGA can do it. As he told his Klan in Las Vegas, "I love the poorly educated". His words, not mine. He called you an idiot, and you still want to have his baby.
So, does that mean you are for a third term for Trump? Surely he would lose, right?

It is ridiculous to assume that Trump can run for a third term

It is more ridiculous for Republicans seeking to work for Trump to refuse to acknowledge it
No, no, no. You don't get it. This thread is asking the dems and republicans to work together to change the Constitution so that Trump could run again in 2028. That would be to your benefit, wouldn't it?

15th post
Without a successful constitutional amendment, which is very difficult and has not happened, Trump cannot legally serve or be elected to a third term.

No amount of votes in Congress or the Senate can change that.
But, it's to democrat's advantage. If we all work together, we can make it happen. Wouldn't you want Trump to be running in 2028? Wouldn't that guaranteed you an easy win?

He might not even win a primary he is so unpopular. I think it is a great idea for him to run again. I am all for it.
Then let's see. That's what this thread is about. Since you truly believe that, wouldn't you want Trump running in 2028?

Nobody can "allow" Trump to run for a third term. The Constitution forbids it. We know you MAGA lapdogs don't give a shit about The Constitution. That's tough shit.

Napping Dopetard can't stay awake even when his cabinet is playing grabass with him in the Oval & you want him for a third term?
You completely misunderstand the thread. I'm asking all Democrats to work with Republicans in changing the Constitution so that Trump can run for a third term. Isn't that what you want, an easy win? Or are you scared Trump would win again?

So, does that mean you are for a third term for Trump? Surely he would lose, right?
Yes, he would lose, big-time!

But that isn't the point.

Who wants to go through his tantrums screaming that he can, or his lawfare of court cases just to keep the country divided.... and appease and massage his delusional and feeble ego... that he KNOWS he'll lose....

Haven't you had enough of this bull shit, already?
