In a Republic, actually
“Trump lashed out at Kentucky Rep. Thomas Massie, a fellow Republican, over his criticism of U.S. airstrikes on three Iranian nuclear sites and threatened to campaign for the person running against him in the Republican primary next year.”

Trump the fascist thug, unfit to be president, using political threats to silence dissent.

Trump support will be a death sentence in the midterms...unless you are a MAGAt.

Trumps hillbilly jug.webp

Well of course. One does not speak out against Fearless Leader.

Massie went full retard.

The War Powers Act states the President needs to seek Congressional authority for keeping troops deployed over 60 days.

Iran will decide if dems sweep all the Senate races in the midterms and impeach and convict him

Seriously???

It was absurd when Bush and Obama used it, why can't Trump go to Congress to attack a foreign country?

Our track record SUCKS when we leave that out

So the Dems can just leak the plans and warn our enemies?

That'll get Massie re-elected, I bet.

Because your presidents wouldn't be allowed to play with the toys, so they don't ask.

I've been willing to give Massie the benefit of the doubt but after this tirade he needs to go.

It's pretty bad when Fetterman makes more sense that he does.
Yeah. Imagine following international law!

It is to laugh...

"Threatening" to mid-term somebody isn't silencing political dissent.

It's actually a loyal adherence to the democratic process.

Burning down police precincts, attacking ICE agents, firebombing federal courthouses; that's you.

The fact you're so far gone that you don't understand this simple concept, tells everyone everything about you we need to know.

And it's pretty bad when you're making sense at all. ;)

Article 2 section 2 gives the President limited war authorities that perfectly comport with the targeted action President Trump exercised last night.

Congress can cut off funding for war, or declare an extended conflict.

But don't expect that to happen any time soon.

That Mickey Mouse "Yahoo'' piece is about as deep as a mud puddle, Jones, and speaks to nothing pertaining to the content and reasoning in Massie's Resolution.

That resolution — H. Con. Res. 38 — makes the following declaration in regard to US military action against Iran: “Pursuant to section 5(c) of the War Powers Resolution (50 U.S.C. 1544(c)), Congress hereby directs the President to terminate the use of United States Armed Forces from hostilities against the Islamic Republic of Iran or any part of its government or military, unless explicitly authorized by a declaration of war or specific authorization for use of military force against Iran.”

So that's Massie's basis for introducing the Resolution.

The only reason Trump would launch any further strikes is if our assets or civilians are attacked by the mullahs.

Meaning Massie is either shaking his fist at a moment that is already over, or he will be defending inaction against Iranian direct attacks on us in the near future.

Rendering this bill:

Retarded.

Our track record when Congress declares war:

5-0

1812
Mex American
Spanish American
WWI
WWII

When we don’t bother with Congress

0-5

Korea
Vietnam
Iraq
Afghanistan
War on Terror

Put us $36 Trillion in debt and living in a surveillance State (for our own protection) Orwell wishes he thought of

Trump is not in charge, Bibi and the MIC are running things and the USA winning is not even a consideration

Congress didn't declare war when Trump bombed top Iranian general Soleimani ALSO IN IRAN in Jan. 2020.

And the Iranian military had not been vastly depleted by the Israelis for the course of a week.

The media and Democrats bleated about WWIII then, just like they are now.

Did it happen?

No.

Trump is not Bush.

Trump is not Obama.

Trump is a wild card, and what he did was perfectly constitutional.
