Trump pushes WH Ballroom

Makes perfect sense.....I doubt a potential shooter would be booking the Lincoln bedroom like at the Hinckley Hotel.
A Ballroom makes perfect sense. Like Trump or hate him, there really is no one more qualified to build such a structure. This is something Democrats and Republicans should easily agree on.

.

Are democrats afraid that they'll never get a chance to use it?

.

A reasonable room ok, We just do not have the money to build fix and maintain all these things that The Republican party wants fixed or changed. from ball rooms to National parks & how we get to vote. Too many dollars being spent. how will we ever pay our debt down if we continue to spend like crazy people. AND this means Both political partys.

I agree, but we seem to have no problem spending on foreign interests and illegal immigration. The ballroom is privately funded, I’m sure we have enough money to maintain it.

SaxonJackson Astrostar I saw you guys were talking about this ballroom too. Did you hear now Republicans are asking for $1 billion dollars for this ballroom? OMG???

The ballroom went from $200 million & privately funded, to $300 million, to $400 million and taxpayers cover some of it, to MAGA trying to silently jam through $1 BILLION, 100% of which is our tax money, for this ballroom

The new proposal calls for $1 billion for “security adjustments and upgrades” related to the ballroom — which it refers to as the East Wing Modernization Project — including “above-ground and below-ground security features.”

It's not going to be privately funded. He's going to make you pay for it. Don't justify it. Stop them. Say enough is enough.

Your votes seem to be the only thing they are afraid of.

Thats 5% of the total budget of the 2024 Treasury Department. Holy crap.

Yes you guys always do that. You made it seem like Obama giving Iran 1.2 billion dollars was a lot of money but now you will act like $1 billion dollars for a ballroom is nothing.

That's just one of his many grifts pal.

As of early 2026, Donald Trump is seeking up to $230 million in taxpayer-funded settlements from the Department of Justice (DOJ) for past investigations

$230 million? What percent of the total budget is that?

So then between the plane and ballroom that's 10% of the total budget because the plane's going to cost us another $1 billion

Do you know how many different scams team Trump has going on? And like a mafia boss Don gets 10% of everything

As U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security in early 2025, Kristi Noem launched a controversial multi-million dollar, $220 million ad campaign warning immigrants against illegal entry and urging self-deportation. The ads, which featured her prominently, were criticized for high costs, bypassing competitive bidding, and, along with accusations of self-promotion, led to her firing

As of April 2026, Foundation Future Industries, a robotics startup where Eric Trump serves as a strategic adviser and investor, was awarded a $24 million contract with the Pentagon.

Donald Trump Jr., along with Eric Trump, manages the Trump Organization's expanding business empire in the Middle East, which has tripled since 2017. They focus on luxury real estate licensing in Oman, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, alongside cryptocurrency ventures and hosting LIV Golf tournaments, with Gulf entities investing hundreds of millions.

I could go on and on but all you care about is the Biden Crime Family and their 20 LLC's and the $20 million they had between all of them that they made over 20 years. LOL. What a joke. If that's a crime family compared to the Trump crime family???

FBI Director Kash Patel is facing intense scrutiny and calls for an investigation over his alleged use of taxpayer-funded government jets and security for personal travel and leisure, including trips to a Texas hunting ranch, a Scotland golf resort, and the 2026 Winter Olympics in Italy. Critics, including the Campaign Legal Center, allege these trips and security for his girlfriend constitute a misuse of resources.
Lori Chavez-DeRemer, the United States Secretary of Labor in the second Trump administration, resigned in April 2026 amid a widening internal investigation into misconduct. She was accused of having an affair with a subordinate, drinking on the job, and abusing federal travel funds
As of early 2026, U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent faces controversies regarding alleged conflicts of interest, failure to fully divest from personal assets, and past tax issues. Ethics watchdogs and lawmakers have raised concerns over his continued ownership of investments, such as private equity and farmland, while overseeing economic policy.

‘Use it or lose it’: Pentagon spending binge set record in final days of fiscal year

Pentagon spending in September included nearly $9 million on Alaskan king crab and lobster tails, more than $200 million in furniture and $5.3 million in Apple devices – just some of the expenditures that added up to a record $93 billion price tag for the month, according to new analysis published by government watchdog Open the Books.

September spending at government agencies typically dwarfs other months because it marks the end of the fiscal year. That’s when “use it or lose it” funding rules kick in for departments rushing to spend the remainder of their budget so as to not forfeit the unused money and have to send it back to the Treasury Department.

But according to Open the Books, no federal agency has ever spent so much on grants and contracts in a single month as the Pentagon’s $93.4 billion in September 2025. More than half of that was spent in the final five working days of the month, the watchdog said.

and I’m in disagreement with him using taxpayer money, mostly. I’m not sure what “security upgrades” they are proposing. That money is going to the secret service to install security features, which, with any new construction in the White House, would automatically happen. You can’t build a new area onto the White House and not provide security measures.

So, for that, I’m fine, as long as they are not using that money for the actual construction of the ballroom.

The $1Bn is equal to 40,000 Hyundai Sedans or 333,333 HEB loaves of bread, and is only slightly less than the current value of building THE ENTIRE PENTAGON. This is beyond crazy.

Don't be a total sucker please. This is just one other way Trump is ripping us off. Probably gets a piece of the racket. 10%. It all adds up He got 10% of Noem's racket. 10% of Kash's racket. The Secretary of Labor racket. Homeland security racket. The plane he got as a gift. There are so many rackets it's hard to keep up. The Iran war racket. Venezuela racket. Cuba racket.

But please don't tell me this isn't a racket. Remember first it was going to be free. Wealthy donors would pay for it. Then it was $200 million, then $300, then $400 million. Now it's $1 billion? My god what kind of ballroom is this? And you'll just accept any old bullshit huh?

This coming right on the heels of them trying to criminally indict Powell for.... wait for it... cost overruns of a federal building project.

In March 2024, President Donald Trump shared a video on his Truth Social account that featured an image of President Joe Biden hog-tied in the back of a pickup truck.

Comey was indicted in North Carolina on Tuesday, April 28, on charges of making threats against President Donald Trump related to a photograph he posted on social media last year of seashells arranged in the numbers “86 47.”

On August 9, 2016, during a campaign rally in Wilmington, North Carolina, Donald Trump suggested that "Second Amendment people" could potentially stop Hillary Clinton from appointing judges who would restrict gun rights.

The comment caused immediate uproar, with many interpreting it as a veiled suggestion of violence or a threat against Clinton's life.

You have proof of this?

See above.

Is it?

Did you even read my actual response to you? I said I didn’t agree with taxpayer money for any actual construction, however, IF they need security measures, then I understand that. You would too if this were any democrat doing it.
