The American people need to accept the fact that those who engaged in lawless rebellion against the United States, treason, war crimes, and crimes against humanity deserve no monuments, no commemoration – Lee in particular.

From things I've read about Lee he was a man of class. I can't help but think that some of that admiration of his character just might shine a positive reflection on his war leadership that's a bit unwarranted. So I find Trump's praise of Lee somewhat ironic. But then, I like generals who don't lose.
