It looks like there could be a crack in the egg shell in Persia. Apparently leaders in Iran have contacted the WH and they and Trump have talked and are currently undergoing negotiations towards reaching a resolution, and in that spirit, Trump has agreed to suspend further military assault upon Iran pending the good faith actions of the Iranians.

Trump would rather have peace than war but there needs to be a change in Iran.

Well, I cannot believe that Trump would settle for anything less. Trump needs to win something positive out of every encounter. ITMT, it would not surprise me me that he is also using the time to continue to shore up strategies on defending Hormuz and getting international aid in protecting it, as well as buying time for the military to further assess Iran's latest threats against energy facilities elsewhere in the region, not to mention assessing the incident with the missiles aimed at Diego Garcia.

My guess is that either Iran is trying another fake out just buying time, or if they are serious, we are days from a breakthrough resolution and final settlement which will have to include no nuclear program, free access for inspections, and a cessation of continued violence against local civilians, or if these talks break down, we will be entering the ugly 2nd phase of this war with Trump in an all-out barrage with no holding back absolutely pummeling Iran with Iran unleashing its final assault against the region.

But if these missiles aimed at Diego Garcia came from Iran (and who else would be firing them?) it is proof that Iran has been lying all along and that Trump was right that Iran was a bigger threat than they ever let on.

This is half good, half bad

What I want to hear is the current government forced into exile and all the rockets and drones destroyed

Iran was a bigger threat than they let on.

Thus both proving Trump's point and justifying this attack if they indeed have booster staged intermediate range (2500 mile) missiles capable of reaching as far as central Europe.

If the world did not know they had this before, they know it now, and settlement or not, our military has gained a lot of knowledge in these three weeks that in any future conflict, will serve us well.

In fact, the USA might end up using any settlement to ourselves buy time to reevaluate these matters to come back on Iran even harder in the future.

Iran has shown much of its hand and played most of its cards, ITMT, I'm sure the USA will continue speedily building an army of advanced drones and other low-cost items along with restocking lots of its bigger toys.

I can't see Trump accepting the current regime unless some major concessions are made, ITMT, it is also up to the people of Iran whether they accept them or not. It may be that the IRGC is so weakened at this point that they fear being on the edge of being able to resist being overthrown from within.

Iran says now they were never in talks with the US.

Iran’s foreign ministry said there was “no dialogue”between Tehran and Washington, state affiliated media reported, adding Trump’s statement was “part of efforts to reduce energy prices and buy time for the implementation of his military plans.

Personally, I hope there is dialog to end this War though who knows.

Regardless, bombing Iranian power plants could cause a humanitarian and refugee crisis that would make Iraq and Syria seem like child’s play.
