Donald Trump visibly floundered in an interview when pressed on a range of issues, including the number of coronavirus cases and deaths in the US, his claims that mail-in voting is fraudulent, and his inaction over the “Russian bounty” scandal.

The US president also repeatedly cast doubt on the cause of death of Jeffrey Epstein, and said of Ghislaine Maxwell, the British socialite who has pleaded not guilty to allegedly participating in the sex-trafficking of girls by Epstein, that he wished her well.

Maybe he should have worked on a strategy ? How many lives would have been saved with effective leadership ?

How many lives would have been saved with effective leadership ?

Can you prove that even one would have?

Another view on the Trump "train wreck" interview. The Mail is a virulent right wing rag and for them to criticise is a real sign that Donnys support is drifting away.

I can point to a lot of countries with better outcomes.

Yes. Look at any country that immediately acknowledged the virus was real and implemented and coordinated response. They all have less cases and deaths than we do.

That's was a stupid question, by the way.

I really get a kick out these opinion articles Interviews that are easily accessible.

Watch the interview and make up your own mind. Why digest through a 3rd party?

Not to mention a BRITISH SOCIAL REPORTER who was a website developer From University of Leeds! :auiqs.jpg: :laughing0301:

Should Brits care what Brian Stelter says about Boris Johnson? Of course fucking not.

What fucking sheep.

America has had fewer deaths per capita than many nations in Europe. A lot fewer than the UK, Belgium, Spain and Italy

First of all the interviewer was being a bit dishonest about other nations covid numbers...but more importantly....asking a question of why we in America have such a high count of covid is a silly and misleading question...

We are a huge nation with individual states that are governed separately....we are not like other populated nations that are ruled by one authority...some states opened too early and sloppily....

Other states didn't have the outbreak of other states so they dropped their guard...to ask Trump this question was designed to put him in a defensive position....all for the cameras....FUCK CNN.....

Trump needs to stay away from CNN they are interested in one thing only....replacing Trump.....

The amount of deaths by the Kung Flu still isnt even an iota of all the deaths by the rag head, camel jockeys you so love.

And Sweden. We are lower than Sweden.

You forgot Sweden. Wonder why?

What countries are testing random people who don't show symptoms of COVID, at the same rate of testing as the US? Also what countries are counting deaths of people who died in car accidents and by other means as COVID death, along with counting people who had not been tested but simply had symptoms related to COVID? What countries are incentivizing hospitals and pressuring doctors to declare COVID as cause of death without running tests and going against medical science?

It was a good question
Someone stupid just couldn't answer it.

Not CNN.

But to the rest of your complaint, the interviewer asked him a tough question. That’s what it’s like to do an interview with someone who isn’t a devotee like Hannity.

TRUMP takes questions from the press on an almost daily bases. TRUMP's access to the press is far beyond any other POTUS.

The MSM 1st asked about when will everyone in the US have access to a test, TRUMP accomplished that and now they ask when will everyone in the US have access to the 15 minute test. The MSM wants everyone in the US to tested daily, yet they still mislead the public on other countries having lower case #'s when other countries are not offing tests to people who don't show symptoms.

He asked him a trick question and Trump did have trouble answering it as the question was designed to do....but the answer is just what I posted...the American president has only so much authority over states unlike other nations with a single authority...

The interviewer knows this and Trump will be ready for this question the next time....

Maybe Trump should have ordered Marshall law and locked down the nation like SK and China did.....then if we had this second wave the case could be made that it was Trumps fault....but not with 50 governors making their own rules....

Plus the numbers the interviewer was siting were weeks old...there are second waves happening all over the world....but then once again the media blames Trump for this virus and lets China off the hook completely.....their big daddy bucks China....

His style of taking questions is advantageous for him. For starters, taking questions is different than answering questions. The one off brief opportunities for reporters in a press room or on his way to the helicopter allow him to answer with gibberish and get away with it because their is no opportunity for a follow up.

And if a reporter really tries to get a follow up, they’re tossed out (or at least tried to be tossed out).

Interviews are far less common for him, especially with adversarial interviewers. That’s because it gives the interviewer the opportunity to counter his bullshit.

My favorite response from Trump’s interview in question here is telling the reporter “you can’t do that” when he mentions a separate statistic.

It wasn't a trick question. It was only a trick question to Trump because he's been talking out both sides of his mouth constantly and when brought to light, he has no real options. But that's not the interviewer's fault, it's Trump's fault.

And someone must have spread the word that we're supposed to be talking about second waves all over the world, but it just isn't happening. I've been looking at the data, the second waves are either very tiny (especially in comparison to us) or nonexistent.

Trump sucked at this interview, BUT.................I'll take the OP's Covid concerns seriously, as soon as she condemns the BLM protests that have been going on now for months every single day across the country where there have been crowds in the thousands and NO social distancing.
