Trump on elections in Ukraine...

Yeah, Democrats sure are, and clowns like Lindsey Graham as well. Graham is the new old John McCain, both of whom helped overthrow a democratically elected President of Ukraine, and ushered in the 2014 revolution.

Result? We ended up with a guy who plays the piano with his penis on stage and cancels elections.

'Muh, democracy'.
The seeds of the current conflict were planted in 2004 and 2014.

First of all, there are millions of people who fled Ukraine and should have a vote in any election. Second, there is not sufficient time for any opposing candidate to get his (her) message out. Third, in a country where corruption is rampant - from even before the Russian invasion - the campaign would be a shit-show.

The agreement to end the war MUST have a commitment from Zelensky to hold elections within a fixed, reasonable period.
Good points.

All of these RINO senators need to tell the American people the exit strategy and what happens when Russia is about to lose... they never go there...
Does Graham and senator Kennedy want a WW3?... they need to explain themselves.... this war should have never started but the dems wanted it and so did the McConnell types....

This is a poll thread. The question is... If there is a ceasefire in place, should there be elections in Ukraine before a peace treaty is negotiated.

Zelensky's five year term ended a year ago.

Putin held elections last year.

If they do, my guess is that Joe Biden will win.

:auiqs.jpg:

Then no reason not to hold elections... Right?

Zelensky should easily win if his support is truly above 50%.

That puts you in the 'hold elections' camp then...correct?
Irrelevant. Ukraine was invaded by Russia under Putin, twice. once when it took Crimea, and then second when it tried to invade the rest of the country.

Why does Trump and MAGA side with Putin, who9's idea of conflict resolution is having you thrown out of a balcony? What happened to the party of Reagan?

But Putin "held elections"!!

:spinner:

This is a madness.

Trump should refuse his entry into the US due to being an unelected despot.

No more fawning over him in a joint session of congress like the dems trotted him out in their dog and pony shows.

The midget can stand in front of the EU for that.

Hell, only the dems, neocon RINOs, and the MIC want to see him anyway.

I understand completely. I am also sure that if Orange Jesus was suddenly pro Ukraine you would be all "lets invade!" like you were with Panama and Canada.

Trump loves our enemies and hates our allies.
Maybe if our "allies" weren't outright dicks for the most part he would be better disposed towards them.

As far as I know a Russian never called me deplorable, trash, or a Nazi. Let that sink in.

I explained this in another post.

Crimea and Donbas had the candidate they supported thrown out by Kiev not once...but twice that saw them removed.

Look up the Orange Revolution and the Revolution of Dignity.

The ethnic Russian supported candidate won the Democratic election, but there were CIA encouraged revolutions TWICE that removed the winning pro-Russian candidate.

Imagine for a moment the following scenario.

After January 6, 2021...the MAGA Republicans protested daily in Washington until the Supreme Court annulled the 2020 election.

Would Democrats ever believe that was a fair result?

Now let's say in ten years it happened AGAIN.

If Vermont, Maine and Massachusetts, who in this scenario, all speak French and not English and are descendents of Canadians...they decided they were done with this crap... Would you blame them?

If they said '**** you guys...we can't get a fair shake here, we are going to join Canada'...could you understand their reasoning?

Well that's what happened in Ukraine. And that's why Crimea left the chat and moved in with Russia.

Buy wait... There's more.

I'm retaliation, Ukraine closed of the canal that provided 85% of the fresh drinking water to Crimea.

Understandable...but untenable.

And that decision led to the invasion.

Before you get sidetracked... I'm being extremely civil here.

I'm not saying Russia was right... and I'm not saying Ukraine was wrong. I'm saying we are outsiders looking in.

The facts above are not in dispute.

Offer me proof that Russia is not just protecting ethnic-Russians in Crimea and Donbas.

Offer me proof that Russia wants to rebuild the Iron Curtain and seize the Baltics and Poland.

Cuz it looks to me like their having trouble fighting one country...and an attack on a NATO ally would bring all of Western Europe into the fray.

If the Warsaw Pact was surrounding US like NATO surrounds Russia...we'd be a lot more nervous too.

Please point out the flaw in my interpretation of the facts.

If you were a Russian citizen reading Russian media, this post would say the same thing about Biden, or Trump, or Obama's conflict resolution practices. You're a slave to propaganda.

P.S. - I noticed you didn't vote.

Are you afraid to vote against Democracy?

Sure, it makes you a huge hypocrite, but on the other hand, so do most of your posts, "moderate Mac".

I'd like to see elections first.

As a referendum on the handling of the war direct from the citizenry.

An overwhelming vote of confidence would give Zelensky much more leverage, reinforcing the will of Ukrainian's to continue the fight.

If he is defeated, perhaps it signals mistakes were made on both sides... which happens to be my perspective as well.
how many more people would die uselessly if they waited??

just stop sending money and it would end,,
