I've read about dead zones, so I agree with you. That doesn't clean up all of the oil spills over the years though.

The ocean and bacteria will do that. I'd be more. concerned with the pathogens in the Gulf.

Some, but that process is painfully slow. I can remember tar balls staining the bottom of my feet, on a beach in Biloxi, in 1960. They are still showing up there.
