Donald Trump called himself the ā€œDebt Kingā€ and lived up to that moniker. A non-partisan think tank issued a study showing that when you exclude Covid relief Trump was 2Xs worse than Biden for debt. That seems low to me.

The fiscal policies of the Trump administration added twice the amount to the national deficit as have President Biden’s, a new analysis has found.

Trump’s administration borrowed $8.4 trillion during the former president’s time in office, while Biden has borrowed $4.3 trillion, according to an analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (CRFB), a Washington think tank.

Ignoring the pandemic relief measures enacted by both presidents, the proportion of debt addition still holds around 2-to-1, with former President Trump adding $4.8 trillion in non-pandemic-aid fiscal debt and Biden adding $2.2 trillion.

That story is so flawed its laughable... they are counting tax cuts???? did they count the dollars the treasury gained due to those tax cuts?...
Once again... Trump was left with a failing broken military and it was Obama who broke it.... and should we just trust the Hill to decide what is covid spending and what is not?...
The fake news shit is getting deeper each day....

This has been pointed out to them repeatedly. They'll just claim "Fake News!" like the programmed drones they are and pretend it never happened.

Net 10 year debt approved?
You know this is invalid as soon a someone adds a spending bill, right?
What are the actual numbers?
Jan 20 217 - Jan 20 2021?
Jan 20 2021 - present?

Because it is fake news.

"When we take out the two COVID years, 2020 and 2021, we find that the average deficits under Trump were roughly $750 billion. That’s bad. But under Biden, the average deficit was $1.5 trillion. Even adjusting for Bidenflation, deficits have been at least 50% higher under Biden than Trump."

But Trump is holy felon of Antioch.

55% of Trump's economy was Government Spending!

Trump blames strong dollar for U.S. economy ā€˜going to hell’

"Trump says the dollar is too strong"

"Trump want's a weaker US dollar"

"JD Vance want's a weaker US dollar"

Kiss your savings & pension goodbye and enjoy massive inflation!

Destroying the US dollar is & has been the only goal of Republicans. The US Dollar is like Government bonds that's value is based on the full faith & credit of the US Government.

100% of Republican law makers signed Norquist no tax pledge to "shrink government and drown it" in debt. They never signed a pledge to shrink spending, they actually increase spending to explode debt to destroy government credit & US Dollar! Then they undermined our faith in the voting system & attacked the US Capitol to finish the job.

Republicans are the money printers, deficit inflation exploding & big spenders! Republican Nixon took the US Dollar off the Gold standard in 1971. Trump printed 5 times more than all presidents in history COMBINED! Republicans #1 Goal is to Print, Print, Print & Spend, Spend, Spend!!!

Democrats pay for spending with taxes & spending cuts that prevents deficits & inflation. Without those spending cuts, the tax cuts only increase deficit, money printing, interest on debt & inflation taxation forever.

Treasury Secretary Paul O’Neill tried to warn Republican Vice President Dick Cheney that his plan to explode budget deficits posed a threat to the economy. Cheney cut him off. ā€œYou know, Paul, Reagan proved deficits don’t matter,ā€...ā€œWe won the midterms. This is our due.ā€ A month later, Cheney told the Treasury secretary he was fired.

Reagan Republicans Bush & Trump caused our Debt problems!!!

Why does there need to be a bunch of ā€œanalysisā€? We know what the debt was at the start and finish of each of their terms. Simple math will give us the answer. No analysis needed.

  • "Just run the presses — print money," Trump said, according to Woodward, during a discussion on the national debt with Gary Cohn, former director of the White House National Economic Council.
  • Cohn was "astounded at Trump's lack of basic understanding," Woodward writes.

How about a more objective and factual source; Office of Budget Management numbers;

Using their "Time Machine" function;
2016: Debt: $20,861,xxx,xxx,xxx Deficit: $712,xxx,xxx,xxx
2020: Debt: $28,517,xxx,xxx,xxx Deficit: $2,625,xxx,xxx,xxx
2024: Debt: $35,012,xxx,xxx,xxx Deficit: $1,867,xxx,xxx,xxx
Projected, based on current trends;
2028: Debt: $46,731,xxx,xxx,xxx Deficit: $3,630,xxx,xxx,xxx

Numbers show the two are fairly close, almost even match on adding to National Debt, via the Deficits.

Note that Debt Clock shows four year increment of data/numbers, so the change in Debt reflects four years total of Deficits, which may have varied some per year from the Deficit figure shown only for that year.

Definitely not a case of Trump being double Biden.
Typical Leftist lies here.

More interesting is the trend. Though Biden is out for November, his administration has set a standard and if Harris wins and continues it, we'll see a four year jump of @ 11.7 trillion. About a 1/3 or @33% increase in Debt. :eek::rolleyes::mad:

What is interesting also, as shown in next link, is the variations of three different systems accounting results, reflecting variations in methods;
The "Budget Showdown 2028" ;

As we see often, and shown above, Guv'mint bean counters tend to understate the projected debt/deficit.
Also interesting to note how this applies in case of Trump being "convicted" as a "felon" based on differences in interpretations and applications of accounting methods.

The debt has gone up at a ghastly rate with your team in charge too....So quit fronting like you give one single flying **** about it to begin with.

The OP is nonsense. Here are the real Budgets, the real deficits, and the real Debt Adds:
These can be verified in wiki or other sources.
Biden’s 2025 Budget is $7.30T with a $1.8T deficit______TOTAL BIDEN $6.9T
Biden’s 2024 Budget was $7.30T with a $2.0T deficit
Biden's 2023 Budget was $6.13T with a $1.7T deficit
Biden's 2022 Budget was $6.27T with a $1.4T deficit
Trump's 2021 Budget was $6.82T with a $2.8T deficit___ TOTAL TRUMP $7.6T (actual)
Trump's 2020 Budget was $6.55T with a $3.1T deficit
Trump's 2019 Budget was $4.40T with a $0.9T deficit
Trump's 2018 Budget was $4.10T with a $0.8T deficit

Whatever the debit we got a lot more bang for our buck under Trump than we ever got from Biden. Gas was about a buck eighty when Trump left office and now it's pushing about four bucks in some areas. Groceries were cheaper, the border was less of a threat, kids weren't being kidnapped and castrated by the government and Ukraine and Israel weren't at war. What ever the cost we were better off under Trump.
