trump jumps out in front of the parade, pretending to lead it.

Biden's failure to lead due to dementia? :dunno:
Try answering without a reliance on fantasy. Once trump gets wind of the reporting on this, that he followed Musk's lead, WHICH HE DID, how long before Elon gets taken down by the orange egomaniac?

Such good news.

Why would a BUDGET BILL include ANYTHING about stopping the DOJ from investigating the J6 committee?

Any Reps on board with this should be primaried anyway and voted out, they're still snakes in the grass.

On a side note, I was posting to this thread and then got a notice that it no longer existed, it was a completely different take on the topic than the thread it was merged into, which was speculation and of course had a negative view of this bill being stopped. Does anyone else notice how anything positive that happens re Trump, all gets lumped into one big thread, yet all of those little threads by TDS Trump haters all get left to stand on their own for 3-4 pages? The bias that's allowed by those who control this board is ridiculous.

Trump wants no debt ceiling at all.

Guess why.

During his first term, the Republican Congress eliminated the debt ceiling for two years so they could spend as much as they wanted without attention being drawn to having to raise the debt ceiling over and over.

You people are unbelievably stupid to think the GOP is fiscally responsible.

You ignore what is right in front of your faces.

You know what happened the last time there was a Republican president (Bush) and a Republican Congress?

They doubled the debt.

Not the deficit. The debt.

Wake up, morons.

Obama slashed the deficit in half.

Trump immediately doubled it.

Trump: I will eliminate U.S. debt in 8 years

From a numerical standpoint, Trump is correct that the debt has almost doubled in dollar terms since Obama's first inauguration. Using the gross debt figure Trump cites, debt grew from $10.6 trillion on Inauguration Day 2009 to $19.4 trillion as of July 21. Using the more economically meaningful figure of debt held by the public, which excludes money that the government owes to itself, debt more than doubled from $6.3 trillion to $14 trillion.

They seem to be an effective team. Be of good cheer and embrace the democracy.

Must be the deep state at work. The non-existent nefarious entity pulling all the strings behind the scenes. So spooky.........and so kooky.

Here's something else I have been pointing out:

The GOP has an extremely narrow majority in the House. In fact, for the first few months, they are going to have a majority of ONE.

Then they will have a majority of 3 or 4.

Think about what that means.

Serious dysfunction just like the last time.

And a couple Republican Representatives holding the entire country hostage until they get their pork project funded.

Wakey wakey!

Yeah, I've been saying that from the get-go. Trump does NOT like being upstaged.

Just ask Steve Bannon.

It is baffling how millions of willfully blind tards have been convinced the GOP is the party of fiscal responsibility.
What's worse, is when you show them the actual facts, they just call it fake news, or ignore it.

"From a numerical standpoint, Trump is correct that the debt has almost doubled in dollar terms since Obama's first inauguration."

Hmmmm, let me see, what was going on when Obama was elected the first time? Oh, that's right, the country was in the midst of a financial meltdown thanks to Shrub's laissez faire governance.

Yes, we remember the 8 years of Obama's economic malaise. It reminds us of Bidenomics.

Elon Musk leads charge to kill spending bill meant to avert government shutdown

Tech billionaire Elon Musk is already flexing his newfound political muscle even before his ally President-elect Donald Trump has taken the oath of office.

Musk helped lead a revolt Wednesday to try to stop a bipartisan funding bill in a direct challenge to the authority of House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., and others in Republican leadership who helped craft the measure. And in a remarkable turn, the revolt appeared to succeed at least for a day, throwing budget negotiations into chaos and increasing the odds of a government shutdown this weekend.

Musk posted to X about the funding bill more than 100 times over the course of the day. He repeatedly called the bill “criminal” and asked his followers to call their representatives, but he also posted memes, including one of him taking a sword to the bill and another referring to the “Kill Bill” films from director Quentin Tarantino. Later in the day, the phrase “Kill Bill” was on X’s list of trending topics in the United States.

Musk announced his opposition to the bill at 4:15 a.m. ET Wednesday.

“This bill should not pass,” he said on X.

The statement put Musk out on a limb as one of the first political figures to come out against the bill, but
13 hours later Trump himself spoke out in agreement.

As I recall, Repub members of the board are fond of railing against "unelected officials," or who they refer to by the fictional term "deep state," controlling the government in nefarious ways. Yet here we have the unelected co-president, Elon Musk, a man who paid $250M to be in the position he's in, killing a bipartisan budget bill as a Christmas shutdown draws near. That's a lot of power.

The orange enemy of the state tried to play catchup but the timing of their respective public remarks, made thru competing social media platforms, made it obvious who decided the bill needed to be killed.

What will Elon decide next?

Musk is doing exactly what Trump has tasked him to do.....................AND OBVIOUSLY THIS MAKES BERG'S HEAD EXPLODE.

Russian interference in 2016s election was NOT a hoax, and Trump welcoming it was proven fact.

It was only not collusion because the trump campaign didn't plan it, with Russia, ahead of Russian actions....they did not collude to make it happen, they just took advantage of it.
It has been proven wrong, but keep the lie going. All you loons lies has put you out of power. Now let the adults make America great again.

No, you don't remember. You made that up. You were probably in grade school.

You deluded fools have very selective memories.

Obama had to recover from the Great Recession. Biden had to recover from the pandemic.

Obama cut the deficit in half while the economy recovered and the stock market blasted off.

As for Biden, I bet you aren't aware the Dow set 47 record highs this year.

Talk about misinformed!

Do you know why Trump added $8 trillion to the debt?

Because government spending counts toward GDP growth.

Trump juiced the GDP by spending a fuck ton of money and doubling the deficit. His was a totally fake economy built on massive government overspending. $8 trillion of new debt in just 4 years.

Obama also added $8 trillion to the debt over a period of 8 years, yet cut the deficit in half. Let's see if you can figure out what that means.

No. You can read it yourself and post what you take issue with.
I did read it

I didn’t see anything more egregious than shutting down the Government because of it

Maybe you can name something…….I can’t
