You might be surprised to learn that the vast number of these business are nothing more LLC's that hold ownership in a hotel or golf course. Instead of putting ownership in the Trump Organization he puts them in separate LLC's to lower taxes. Plus it sounds far more prestigious to own 500 business than just own 500 hotels and golf courses.
