Is there any doubt anymore of just how hypocritical and laughable Trump and other republicans can be?
“Trump also engaged in this apparent hypocrisy, voting by mail
in at least two primaries in 2020.Trump later voted early in person in the 2020 general election. Trump has aggressively pushed to severely curtail early and absentee voting with the ultimate goal of requiring Americans
to vote solely on election day.”
“At least half of the 139 House lawmakers who objected to certifying at least one of the states Joe Biden won voted either early or absentee, the Times found. Another 18% voted on election day and the Times was unable to find data for another 32% of lawmakers. The Times based its data on publicly available information about voting.”
Trump himself has also been guilty of this apparent hypocrisy amid his push to ban almost all early voting.

I don't think most Republicans are totally against voting by mail. They just don't want to do it the same way democrats want to do it.
First, we should not be mailing out any ballots willy nilly to every registered voter, only to those who request mail in ballots. We don't need a bunch of ballots floating around for voters who don't actually plan on voting.
Second, as with in person voting, we need a way to make sure that only registered voters are voting, such as with an ID or other proof.
Third, we need to make sure that the person voting is the one mailing the ballot back or putting it in the drop box. Others should not be allowed to mail ballots that aren't theirs and we need a system in place that only that person can mail their one vote, not more than one vote, IE no ballot harvesting. Any ballots not from the voter themself should not be counted and legal charges may be necessary.
Fourth, state laws should be followed, which didn't always happen in 2020. Some states disregarded their very own laws when it came to mail in voting or counting the votes, which allowed claims that the election was stolen.
Fifth, all mail in votes should be received by election day. If the mail in ballots get there after election day, then tough shit, you should have either mailed them earlier or voted in person.
Sixth, when it comes to senior homes or other such places, if someone is helping the voters with their ballots, it should be someone who is totally impartial. We don't need a bunch of activist democrats (or republicans) helping seniors vote.
Seventh, which I am personally adding to the list and it isn't really talked about much, early voting should be eliminated unless you can prove a valid reason why you can't vote at a later time, such as service personnel being shipped off. for one example. Voting is an important responsibility and you could have a last minute change of heart so, if you have already voted, it is not possible to have a change of heart anymore. Early voting is mostly for the partisan and biased and I personally think it should not be allowed.
