Not entirely true. Without any resistance the federal government will serve the political establishment and ignore the people. There was a time when the GOP was a disaster and were so aligned with the establishment that the only thing that saved the country was the old school democrats. Then the democrats started courting the establishment money and power during the time of Clinton and eventually overtook the GOP as The Establishment party. The two parties flipped during the time of GW Bush. Now it is the new republicans that are saving us from the extremely pro-establishment democraps.
