The committee directed the whistleblower to report it to the intelligence community inspector general, which is standard committee protocol when intelligence community officials bring concerns to the committee. The committee had no role in the writing of the complaint and the whistleblower shared only vague allegations about the complaint with the committee aide, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The whistleblower Act only applies to reporting other members of the intelligence community and at that does not apply to policy differenecs.

The leaker was in contact with Schiff and his committee and that needed to be investigated but Atkinson failed to do that.

Accepting what Schiff said is laughably dumb, as he's the guy who read into the record a false account of the President's talk with Zelensky and so many more lies, and he still will not release the testimony of one witness.
