Trump EO Handed Another Loss

Birthright citizenship is not opposed by the majority of Americans. It is Trump who is trying to thwart will of the people, at every single turn.

Trump didn’t even campaign on ending birthright citizenship, but it was in project 2025, that he never heard of.

Furthermore, it will take an amendment to the constitution to overturn the 14th amendment, so good luck with that.

TRUMP's has been for ending birthright citizenship since 2016.

Gee, then why does this poll say that only 45% of all Americans approve of what he's doing.

Of course most American's aren't even aware that Trump's Border Patrol and ICE Raids have now completely filled all of the detainment facilities and both ICE and BP are now doing "catch and release", just like Biden.

Televised ICE Raids are going well. White neighbours cursing out the ICE people, hardly any gang members or criminals arrested. A complete waste of government resources. Frightening immigrants, terrorizing their neighbours, and they've already run out of jail space and money.

Tom Holman has said he's rethinking putting these raids on TV. Why Tom???? Because people will see that it's all been a pack of lies, the shit you've been talking about????
I believe the polling (ahem, 70%) was by CBS, who is squirming to Trump.

I double dog dare the SCOTUS to allow the end of birthright citizenship. I will personally file an Amicus Brief. If they attempt that damn historical revisionism, originalist intent bullshit like they did with the second amendment it will be the end of them. All of them impeached, every damn last one.

Oh you mad

China and Russia need only be patient.
Half of Americans are so stupid they are more than willing to cut off their own noses to spite their own faces.

It’s 70% of REPUBLICANS, not all Americans. CBS is shading the truth. How will Americans ever know the truth if everyone is parroting Trump’s lies?

So even 30% of Republicans disapprove. Has trump storm troopers spread throughout the nation, breaking up families and terrorizing neighborhoods, the approval rating has nowhere to go but down.

It sounds real good to drag these people out of their homes and throw them out of the country until you find out it’s your neighbours and your friends and your pin people from your church and they’re not criminals at all.

I'm sure the Supreme Court is cowering in fear of ......of....... who were you again?

Say, did you catch the curling match last night?

"President Donald Trump’s controversial plan to end birthright citizenship was blocked in court for a third time Monday"

Maybe Trump should get the message and defend the Constitution.

It's the right thing to do.

Rawstory?

Oooh, the nation is on pins and needles waiting for the Winston amicus brief. Fucking clown. Far more people were against ending roe and it didn’t mean jack shit. This would be a very popular ruling.

SCOTUS will over rule the lower court. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
If the attorneys arguing against the jus soli policy know their stuff, I think the current constitutionally grounded Supreme Court will agree that the Founders intended Jus Soli to apply to freed slaves and children of citizens and nobody else. Those here on any kind of visas or otherwise visiting or on temporary assignment like ambassadors and anybody here without documented authorization to be here permanently cannot claim jus soli for their children.

Jus Soli or citizenship just because you are born here is the law in the United State, Canada and Brazil. Period. All other countries have much more sensible immigration laws.

I certainly hope they get the high court to also rule that chain migration will no longer be allowed. If you immigrate legally to the United States, your parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins etc. will also have to apply for legal immigration. They should no longer be allowed to come just because you made it in.

If we are successful in getting rid of Jus Soli, Canada and Brazil will need to follow suit as they will be the only place folks will go to have their 'anchor babies.'

EDIT: Further I think it absolutely shameful that any judge and most especially a district judge not know the history, letter and intent of the Constitution.

They are not trying to overturn the 14A, just get back to it's original meaning.
That is just total ignorance. Sure, you are not going to get into the debate over the 14th amendment in elementary school history. And you are just going to touch the 14th in high school, even an AP US History class.

But there it is, "original intent". Senator Jacob Howard, of Michigan no less. ERRR. After the Civil War, Michigan, North Carolina, yeah. The amendment means exactly what it says. If you are born here, no matter your race or the status of your parents, you are a citizen. He clarifies that, firmly.

This whole "subject to the jurisdiction" is five hundred year old diplomatic speech because it is the children of foreign diplomats, diplomats that are not "subject to the jurisdiction". And it was native Americans, born on reservations, their parents were not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. They achieved their citizenship status through an act of Congress, decades after the 14th.

I mean this question was asked, and answered, way back in the beginning. To claim some other meaning to that jurisdiction clause is historical revisionism in the highest degree. The only possible argument is that those Hispanics crossing the border are an invasion force, laughable on its face. Besides, hell, ain't that what we all are? Outside Native Americans, didn't we all "invade" this continent? The Pilgrims and Puritans, the Irish, the Germans, the Swiss. Yeah, the Swiss. French, Spanish, Jewish, Muslim, they all "invaded".

And this birthright citizenship has been tried in the courts, many times. Jus Solis, in the purest form, has been the long standing understanding. At the time, it was groundbreaking. Today, not so much, dozens of countries have adopted it. Any attempt to eliminate birthright citizenship is a direct attack against the Constitution, and against the very foundation of this country.

You responded to a post about Trump's approval rating on immigration with a poll strictly about birthright citizenship, Stupid.

That is just one component of his immigration policies.

And your other link says 461 that were rounded up in cities around the country have been released. Says nothing about "catch and release" at the border, which Trump stopped.
Maybe those 461 had legitimate asylum claims, Dumbass.

Link us up to your data on who has been arrested to back up your claim hardly any gang members or criminals arrested.

Betcha can't.

This is why Liberals love the Judicial part of Government over Executive and Legislative. You don’t need to work as hard to shape policy. Sotomayor talked fondly of legislating from the bench.

The Constitution does NOT allow for any of the things he's been doing.

Trump can't pay out the civil service because Congress hasn't authorized the expense, so that's illegal.

Checks and balances and Trump cannot promise to pay people money that Congress has neither allocated nor approved.

He can't turn a bunch of criminal hackers loose inside the government's computers either.
The US Constitution, which you have never read and are completely clueless on, says the President is in charge of the Executive Branch and it's expenditures, Simp.

So Trump can authorize expenses for buyouts.

Once again you demonstrate your colossal ignorance of the US. Go fix your own shithole country.

There is no such thing as an "anchor baby." If all this stimulates a discussion about immigration law and clarifies things like the parents having NO altered right to be here illegally just because their offspring is a citizen, so much the better. Enforce those existing laws stringently.

When is your cut off. Asians were the first of what YOU call NATIVE. They invaded too. LOL. REEEEEEEEEE.

"shithole country"

You're off topic Nostra, so why does Trump want to include Canada as a US State, because it's a shithole?

Maybe Trump should pay attention to the US and quit turning people against each other.
