WASHINGTON ― Coup-attempting former President Donald Trump on Monday demanded that his party stop hosting debates for his Republican presidential rivals or be “revamped.”

Trump has not attended any of the three debates the Republican National Committee has sponsored since late August and does not intend to attend the fourth one next month.

Yet, as actual voting in primaries and caucuses draws nearer and former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley has risen steadily in the polls, both he and his campaign have become increasingly vocal about ending the debates entirely.

“RNC must save money on lowest ever ratings debates. Use it against the Democrats to STOP THE STEAL! If not, REVAMP THE RNC, NOW!!!” Trump wrote on his social media website Monday afternoon.

It is unclear why Trump believes that hosting the debates costs the RNC money when the media partners are the ones that bear the expenses. It’s also unclear how, precisely, the RNC should be restructured or what the mechanism for that might be.

Trump's campaign is broke. Legal bills and Trump and his employee defendants to keep them "loyal". Donations to his PAC are less than the money going to the lawyers, who at this point, I seriouslly doubt will lift a finger for him unless they're paid, up front. (See Powell, Ellis, & Guliani).

Trump replaced "disloyal" Republican leadership throughout the states which refused to push the Big Lie, and demand recounts, audits, and court cases over stolen elections but were good fund raisers, and replaced with loyalists who blew through Party funds on losing cases and had nothing left for the last mid-term elections. See Arizona, Nevada, Michigan.

Rona McDaniels refuses to give Trump any more money, because the RNC is struggling nationally to raise funds as well because of him. Corporate donors and billionaires want no part of another Trump Presidency, and the financial chaos he inflicted with his pointless trade wars. Business needs stability for long term planning.

The Democrats have a twice as much money as Republicans and donations continue to pour in. Trump is trying to keep himself afloat during the campaign. He's flailing and when Trump is in trouble, he lashes out.

Arizona Republican Party may be close to broke. But it has a larger problem

Four years ago, the Arizona Republican Party had close to $770,000 on hand. Now it's nearly broke, and there are good reasons for that.
