There was a white house announcement today and Pfizer spoke about it and promised to build large factories in the USA and reduce prices 80%. What a wonderful bit of news. Use TRUMPRX on the WWW to get low priced drugs.

Hurrah Trump and will you agree how great this is?

So they're going to pay workers more than they would in another nation and reduce prices by 80%

Sure.

Another "I'll believe anything Trump tells me" thread.

That isn't exactly what the White House is saying: Fact Sheet: President Donald J. Trump Announces First Deal to Bring Most-Favored-Nation Pricing to American Patients

If drug prices drop, great! As Harry said, though, I'll wait until it actually happens before I get too excited. 🤷‍♂️

Our Meds are about $300 a month.

I'll take any savings I can get.

Biden allowed our drugs to be made in China and during covid China withheld them...
Some key actions under Biden:
  1. Inflation rebates
Under the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), drug manufacturers must pay rebates to Medicare if they increase the price of a drug faster than the rate of inflation.
This is designed to discourage steep price hikes. For drugs in Medicare Part B, it has already triggered lower out-of-pocket costs for some patients.
  2. Medicare price negotiation
Prior to the IRA, Medicare was legally barred from negotiating drug prices directly with pharmaceutical companies. The IRA changed that.
The administration has already reached agreements for 10 drugs (in the first wave) that will see price reductions (38% to 79% lower list prices) starting in 2026.
It’s estimated that if those negotiated prices had been in effect earlier, Medicare would have saved about $6 billion in that first year, and beneficiaries would save about $1.5 billion in out-of-pocket costs.
  3. Caps on costs and benefit design changes
    • Insulin costs for Medicare beneficiaries are capped at $35 per month for covered insulin products.

Pfizer pays trump a bribe to avoid tariffs, to return drug prices to pre tariff levels.

So he is reducing prices for medicaid recipients after having signed a bill that will kick 7.5 million people off it.

It will be a decade before those factories will be functional. In the meantime, Trump has placed a tariff on foreign drugs

How will drugs manufactured here be 80 percent cheaper?
Trump believes in investing in AMERICA FIRST. I know that's hard for a democrat to understand, because democrats are cracked.

What the hell does that fluff have to do with actually addressing what you've quoted?

Trump's tariffs make imports more expensive, so do long term relocating production projects. "80% cheaper" claims are worthless.

The inflation reduction act was a joke and a lie... did the price of anything come down after it was put it place?... answer no... people who are seriously ill are still having to file for bankruptcy...
