What TrumpRx Means For Controversial Plan To Lower U.S. Drug Prices

The White House on Tuesday unveiled a key feature of President Donald Trump's bold but controversial plan to slash U.S. drug prices. It even has a snappy, if quirky, name: TrumpRx.

That's what the Trump Administration is calling a new direct-to-consumer website for Americans to buy prescription medicines. The White House also struck a deal with Pfizer (PFE), to provide every state Medicaid program with lower-priced drugs. Pfizer said it will participate in TrumpRx, selling a "large majority" of its primary care treatments and some specialty products at a 50% to 85% discount.

He has been focused on the trump brand for so long he forgot his actions as prez aren't supposed to be designed for image building. But once a self-promoter always a self-promoter.
He's been jealous of the "Obamacare" handle even though it was coined by republicans in an attempt to insult us.

Capitalism is the economic system by which companies recoup the cost of R and D.
Does it have to be in one country only for it to be capitalism?
Legislative slight of hand is the method by which Tom DeLay blocked the government from negotiating Medicare drug costs.
Explain, with evidence?
Coercion is the means by which Dotard forced pharmaceutical companies to come to the table under threat of massive tariffs.
How did Canada force them to do it?

Great. Since we’re going full socialist, maybe he can mandate lower gas prices next
The left treats corporations as the enemy. The intelligent Trump sees them as an ally and works a deal beneficial for all Americans. Always the positive deal maker.

Wow. Like “Obamacare.” President Obumbler obviously liked that unofficial term.
The term originally came from the right wing, and was intended as an insult, just like when they coined the term Hillarycare.

She'll have to.

berg80 would not. Be. Caught. Dead. Buying from something called "TrumpRx."

I'm sure Pfizer will allow all Democrats and "not Democrats" to purchase their fine products at the old "pass on the costs Europeans don't have to pay" prices. In fact, now they can tack on the costs that normal Americans will not be paying, so Bergie can pay even MORE!

Boy will she get the last laugh!
LOL, that's a thought, most Democrats have such a severe case of TDS, they won't be going to TrumpRx.

Nobody asked where the term came from.

What I said was that Obumbler liked it. And he did.

Later on, he saw that it was being used disparagingly. So he sort of reverted to its official name.
Who named the ACA Obamacare?

Not Obama
Who cares? Obama seems to have liked it for a while.

😎

Anyone know what Jonathan Gruber called it? He was the architect of Obamacare, so he should know.

Nah.

I thought you were making a factual claim that you could back up.

With the Federal Government shutdown, I have to preverse my strength and other resources, so I won't be taking time trying to prove your non-factual claims.

How are you doing with the shutdown? Do you have health insurance?

So Trump himself actually putting his name on this has no comparison to the right naming the ACA Obamacare

Got it

I see that he claimed that its passage depended upon the “stupidity of the American voter.

During a panel discussion at the University of Pennsylvania in October 2013, Gruber said (in part):

This bill was written in a tortured way to make sure CBO didn’t score the mandate as taxes. If CBO scored the mandate as taxes, the bill dies, OK? So it’s written to do that.

In terms of risk-rated subsidies, if you had a law which said healthy people are going to pay in — you made explicit that healthy people pay in and sick people get money — it would not have passed, OK? You can’t do it politically. It’s not only transparent financing but also transparent spending.

Lack of transparency is a huge political advantage. And basically, call it the stupidity of the American voter or whatever, but basically that was really, really critical for the thing to pass.

Look, I wish Mark was right that we could make it all transparent, but I’d rather have this law than not.

He enjoyed using the term “Obamacare” for a while, you dishonest ignorant twit.

President Obama: "I kind of like the term ‘Obamacare.’ Because I do care. That’s why I passed the bill."

So: as always you’ve “got” nothing other than an inability to learn and unwillingness to be post honestly.

He may have liked it but he did not name it that

Please feel obliged to quote me saying he did name it that.

In reality, of course, I already noted that he liked the name given to it.
