Trump considering taking $3 billion in Harvard grants, giving them to trade schools

I have no idea why Trump cultists have become anti education, anti science, and vulgar.

It is a shameful and embarrassing reflection to the rot evident in Trump world.

It serves our country very poorly.

I'm none of those, I'm simply celebrating that maybe a bigger share of the pie gets spread to some of these schools that offer training for real-world jobs.

When US universities put Antisemitism in their core curriculum… they ceased being educational or scientific.
When they offered graduate courses in Queer Studies and Porn Appreciation they ceased being serious institutions.

Sure. If it helps you cope with your thoughts being soundly rejected by rational thinking Americans.
Rational…

Woke has ceased to have a meaning. It is just a battle cry to address anything you don’t like or understand.
Kinda like Hitler/fascist/racist/dictator/democracy/ and due-process.
Abused words that have lost meaning.

So you don’t fund research because…what, you want to stick it the libs and higher Ed?
Again, There are 266 research universities in the US. Two hundred sixty-five of them feel research is more important than anti-semitism and foreign government protests. If Harvard thinks it is more important to take a political stance that denies people an education because of their religion or ethnicity then they don't need taxpayer $$$. Taking public funding from this one expensive, entitled, over-rated university would hardly lead to a "brain drain." BTW, deporting a dissident foreign student who is abusing their privilege is not a brain drain of American talent anyway.

Fake news. Laughable.

Or words that you should explicitly define when using them otherwise you are just another person screaming Nazi etc.

Due process has a meaning however, and just because you don’t think it applies to a particular category of people doesn’t make it abused.

I wouldn’t say simple minded, they’re not stupid. And to be honest, looking down on them by labeling them like that is part of the reason Trump is so compelling.

Because they are so immersed in their politics of anger and grievance intertwined with conspiracy riddled logic, that they see in Trump a savior who embodies all these slights and who will settle all their scores regardless of the cost. He will bring back a golden age that in reality never really existed and can’t be manufactured. This is how fascism gains a toe hold. It is also reminiscent of China’s cultural revolution and Russia’s Bolshevik revolution. Ruthless populists exploiting deep seared grievances to solidify their power.
I disagree. If that was so unappealing, Trump would not be in office because this is what he does and it is what they do to others.

It's really a narrative that needs to stop being repeated. Trump appealed to racism sexism and other forms of bigotry and if people don't like that being said, that's just too bad. This idea that we have to accommodate them, or that somehow we must police our language so they can feel comfortable, is a loser because all that will create is more bullying coming from the right. Thisis what they want. T silence all dissent so they can do whatever they want.
,
Trump is not the first time this has happened. In my lifetime and in yours, Ronald Reagan played to the same resentment, and the same people have been looking for another one ever since. Both the Bushes were not sufficiently racist enough, after all they signed to continue the Voting Rights Act. The Supreme Court was not sufficiently right-wing enough, and judges kept living until they had a president in office who would appoint right-wing judges who would overturn the laws and policies they did not like. Tump has done that with the help of Mitch McConnell.

Much the same as your use of MAGA and its many variations as a pejorative. You're being a bit hypocritical when you call anything you disagree with as MAGA. Maybe you should open your mind a bit before pointing fingers.

It's just become the outrage phrase du jour for the useful idiot contingent.

The problem with this anti-semitism bullshit excuse is that this isn’t about antisemitism. That is just the excuse. In ADL’s antisemitism college report card….Harvard rated “C”, average. The F’s? None of them were targeted. The “D”s? A coup,e of them in the list were targeted …the rest, no.

Isn’t it time you stop pretending this has anything to do with antisemitism?
