Never heard mention of the "debt ceiling" during the campaign, I do seem to recall the fiscal portion of the campaign being centered around reducing federal spending, one is not synonymous with the other given the current federal structural deficits.

But hey if President Trump & crew can figure out a way to eliminate future borrowing, I'm all for it, however You and I both know that the existing "debt ceiling" mechanism isn't it.

Trump wants the debt ceiling suspended.

There is one, and only one, reason for that. And it is the same reason it was suspended twice during his first term.

To allow for accelerated, unlimited, massive overspending.

That's what Trump does. And he did it with the full cooperation of his first GOP Congress.

Like I said above, if anyone re-hired Trump to get spending under control, they are the most willfully blind people in American history.
