Trump calls for unlimited debt.

If Trump doesn't get spending under control his legacy will be greatly tarnished.

I doubt that. He spent more than just about any other president the last time around, and oversaw one of the largest increases in the national debt... yet "conservatives" still cheerleaded for him and still think he's the Savior of America. :dunno:

/----/ Can you guys get your story straight? Either the president controls spending like you say or Congress does like Marener says.

/——/ Where’s Joe and Commie Harris? It’s their budget. They’re still in office.
Congress has the power of the purse.

You guys love blowing shit up but you hate getting blamed for it. Such weakness.

Nothing gets spent until the president signs off on it or the Congress over rides his veto. As far as I can recall, a budget bill has never over rode a veto.

/---/ That's nice in theory, but when was the last time Congress had the two-thirds vote in both the House and the Senate to override a veto?
That's when the shutdown happens.

/—-/ And when democRATs and media start blasting Trump for hurting poor federal employees who live pay check to paycheck you’ll take them to task?

Absolutely. I've condemned their reckless spending as much if not more than Republicans. I was against every single one of their programs. I was against every penny they have spent on stupid useless wars.

Why won't you support the Republicans for shutting things down to control the debt?

Tater has spent way more, and Barry actually ran up the most debt.

Even if that's true, they're corrupt Democrats, spending is what Democrats do. Excessive spending is not supposed to be what Republicans do. My point was simply that I doubt his reputation would be tarnished by over-spending, since it wasn't the first time around. Which just goes to show that a lot of people have a football team mentality when it comes to politics, rather than holding politicians accountable and making truth paramount.

The only thing that will prevent the US from going broke is a balanced budget amendment and term limits. Neither will ever happen, so the US going broke is inevitable.

/—-/ Trump and DOGE is our last chance to save the country.

It most certainly is. Hint: you lost once to me and had to apologize. Quit while you’re behind. You may call it a spending bill yet regardless what you call it, it should have been put through in Sept.

That is not true, either.

This is NOT a budget bill. It’s a continuing resolution.

Now that we’re clear that you don’t know the difference, it’s obvious that you know nothing about the legislative process.

But if you’re going to advertise it, be my guest!

It’s a spending bill. Already said it. You don’t know anything about life. You’re a deranged fat leftist. Pick any topic and debate me. You will end up apologizing again

DOGE is imaginary. It is a gimmick.

Trump used Musk to launch this attack on his own Congress by hiding behind the illusion that Musk is actually serious. The only thing Trump wanted with the Musk stunt was for Congress to abolish the debt limit altogether.

That way, he could go back to borrowing and spending to his heart’s content, without the inconvenience of having to face public scrutiny when he gets close to breaking the bank.

Plan B offered to give him till after the mid terms.

Now, we may be at Plan C.

And now, Derp fuhrer is bellowing that he wants his entire term without having to face a debt ceiling crisis.

Nobody even talked about cutting a dime of spending, other than some right wing podcasters and the last to know cranks on X and YouTube.
