Trump Ballroom Unlikely To Be Built

This thread is a joke. The new ballroom will be built, you didn't prove otherwise, the court gave it a green light.

Not quite. The court didn't give it a "green light", there is another hearing scheduled for mid-January to see if the Trump Administation is complying with the law.

I believe this is verbal fromi court proceedings at this point, I couldn't find an written opinion.

That would be illegal wouldn’t it?

And cheered on by you idiots, and then not punished as I linked in at least of the cases.

My favorite were the idiots who vandalized the memorial to the Massachusetts 54th Infantry Regiment.

The next president will use the ballroom with no qualms at all. He/she/it won't even bother to ask you about it.

We shall see
You better hope a Republican wins

Vandals are criminals
Local Governments are not

We will see how far Trump gets on his majestic ballroom.
Trump made it clear a President can tear things down without approval when he tore down the East Wing
Same applies to his ballroom
Trump has a few hurdles to build his ballroom.
A public comment period and two other cursory reviews by agencies he is the head of, easy peasy.
If there is any holdup it will be to ensure that all of the underground utilities are designed around and not damaged by excavating for the foundations.
I'm thinking that the new ballroom can also serve as a huge open office space with large computer screens to track everything. It would need dark bulletproof glass and fiber cables to support the computers and screens.
Much better us of the ground than for the first ladies' offices.

You mean like the Biden Crime Family?
I bet he doesn't pardon himself because he's immune for actions while president.

This is where Trumps "get out of jail free" card they got from the Roberts supreme court won't save him.
In Trump v US they granted the "presidential immunity" for all presidential and presidential related acts.

But the supreme court didn't amend the constitution, which the clear text would overrule their opinion if the president is impeached and convicted.

Judgement in Cases of Impreachment shall not extend further than to removal from Office, and disqualification to hold and enjoy any Office of honor, Trust or Profit under the United States: but the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law.

The important part is the Party convicted shall nevertheless be liable and subject to Indictment, Trial, Judgement and Punishment, according to Law

Because a democrat happily using the ballroom to host foreign dignitaries in style instead of in tents would cause short circuits in the minds of literally dozens of democrat voters?

Not finding a show-stopper is good enough for now.
I found about 3 hurdles, a public comment period, and two agency reviews, from agencies he heads.
Other than those the issues are technical, like underground utilities and any security issues like tunnels.

I have no problem with repurposing the East Wing
Even a larger ballroom

I do have a problem with tearing down the whole thing without warning and without proper approval

I do have a problem with the East Wing dwarfing the rest of the complex

I do have a problem with the new complex not getting proper approvals

No, what causes short circuits is a ballroom that dwarfs the rest of the White House complex

Why wouldn't the ballroom be big? Did you want a small one that wouldn't host large gatherings and force us to put up tents again? The very reason for building the thing is to get away from using tents, remember? But hey, you'd better get right on convincing the voters that they need to cough up the taxpayer money to tear down something that didn't cost taxpayer money to build and make us go back to using tents. Good luck with that one, especially after the next several presidents in a row use it to great success.

I never really gave a shit about how big our ballroom is
Trump is the only one obsessed with it.

Our current ballroom held 200 till Trump tore it down. If you need a bigger event, hold it offsite in DC

Anyone else notice the cognitive dissonance between those statements?

Oh, yes, 200. Now why do we need to put up tents again? Oh, and good luck with security when you hold presidential events in ill-prepared buildings.

LIke Wollman Rink? Or Trump Tower? Or myriad others?

You guys have reached new depths of TDS Fueled© hate. Congratulations on your achievement!
Good point

Let’s take a look at Trump’s most iconic New York project, the Trump Tower.

The idea first surfaced in 1977 when Trump tried to buy the parcel that the Bonwit Teller department store sat on. It took two years for Trump to acquire the building.

The Tower went through several iterations, as Trump kept changing his mind and adding cost.

The project was not approved until 1980, and demolition began.

Trump promised to preserve parts of the architecturally significant Bonwit Teller facade and donate them to the Metropolitan Museum of Art. He broke that promise and had them destroyed.

Cases involving the use of scab labor, the usual catalog of unpaid bills, and Trump’s connections to the mob bosses who supplied the concrete were an issue.

In the end, the project took three years to build, from demolition to completion.

Predictability, costs doubled.

It is also ten stories shorter than Trump claims it is.

Virtually all of Trump’s projects follow variations on this pattern.

His ballroom will prove to be a masterclass in incompetence, mismanagement, influence peddling and litigation.

“A public comment period and two other cursory reviews by agencies he is the head of, easy peasy.”

Not when there is still no plan.

And not when all these things were supposed to have been completed before any demolition began.

Frankly, I can't think of a better metaphor for the whole Trump Regime. They are very good at tearing things down, but they suck at actually building anything.

In October, Donald Trump traumatized all true patriots by tearing down the East Wing of the White House. The move, he claims, will clear the way for a ballroom for holding large events that are typically held in tents on the South Lawn. A debate immediately arose online over whether or not the next Democratic president should tear down the ballroom or keep it, albeit with the necessary extensive renovations to remove all the tackiness Trump brings to any project.

Two months later, it increasingly seems that such discussion was a wasted effort, as the chance this ballroom will actually be built is rapidly disappearing. Perhaps it could have if Trump had delegated the management of the project to someone competent, but that’s not what he did. Instead, the famously lazy and disorganized president decided to blow off his actual governance duties in favor of micromanaging a construction project he is incapable of handling. Finishing the ballroom in the next three years would be difficult for anyone, but it’s quickly becoming clear it will be nearly impossible for the famed real estate tycoon to pull it off.

For anyone who has dealt with any renovation project more complex than patching drywall, the ballroom’s construction is waving every red flag possible, signaling endless delays that will stretch for months — and, in all likelihood, for years. Despite announcing plans for the ballroom in July, it’s clear there’s no idea what it’s going to look like, how big it will be or how it will be laid out. Trump keeps changing things, driven by a short-sighted impulsiveness that keeps pushing him to expand the scope of the project. Initially, it was supposed to seat 650 people in 90,000 square feet, but he kept throwing tantrums about how he wanted it bigger. Earlier this month, he even ran off the initial architect, and odds are that will happen again.

Then there’s the red tape. Even though a judge ruled against the National Trust for Historic Preservation in their lawsuit to temporarily halt construction, he required the White House to avoid building anything foundational and demanded plans for the structure be submitted by the end of the year. But as the White House hasn’t even scheduled meetings with the National Capital Planning Commission to start the process, meeting that deadline appears unlikely.
Think of all of the millions squandered on renovations that don't help anyone--400 million on a ballroom, 250 million on the Kennedy Center. Even if those are not tax payer funds, the time he spends micromanaging his pet projects is time not spent on the people he's supposed to be working for, the American taxpayers.

You missed this one

Emmett Till's historical markers in Mississippi have been repeatedly vandalized, stolen, and shot at, highlighting persistent racism, with signs replaced by more durable versions, including a bulletproof one in 2019, but the attacks underscore the community's resolve to keep the memory of Till's murder alive despite attempts to erase it.

We're not talking vandalized one or twice, but literally hundreds of times. Replaced dozens of times

Vandalized again and again and again.
