The left is going to argue over anything Trump does. But here's the secret.
They always get enough democrats to vote for Trumps left leaning/socialist BS. But only just enough. And those that do vote for it, are always safe votes. IE: No chances of being replaced in the next election.

That way they can mostly say they're against Trump, still get Trumps left leaning bills passed and continue to be congressmen.

The $5,000 per year is what the families can contribute out of their own pocket (tax free, I believe.) It's not additional government contributions.

For every $100 invested then it would be worth $600 now. Investing in America is always a sound bet over the long haul.
