Trump Announces $1,000 Newborn Baby Investments In ‘Big Beautiful Bill’

He's not lying. The government never paid most of us to have kids. As they shouldn't, because it's socialism.

BTW, this isn't about Moonglow . There's no need to make this personal.

What do you think about Trumps idea of paying people to have kids?

It's not Socialism.

At all

What better way to address big deficit problems than to....setup yet another giveaway with a side of a loophole.

What better way to bring the prices down than to....add big taxes on imports.

This Trump fella is brilliant.

It is always hilarious when you loons pretend to care about deficits.

I don't have to reassess. My husband and I had children and they're our responsibility.
Would it not be the responsible thing to do to invest, tax-deferred, in your kid's future if given the opportunity to do so?

It's a win-win. Even grandparents can get in on the act by contributing (through the parents) to the tax-deferred account for their grandkid's future.

Remember, the .gov will make much more than the 1K they/we invest now come time to pay the taxes so there is zero "socialism" involved.

What's so hard to understand about that? :dunno:

My husband and I can easily invest 1k into our children's future without government help.

Their private school tuition proves it

RINO's like you are OK with the government taking money from everyone, to pay for others. Does the word "Welfare" mean anything to you? Obviously you don't understand socialism.

And yes, Trump is a HUGE RINO.
He spent $8 trillion in just 4 years.
Only vetoed 1 spending bill.
Increased the debt ceiling 3 times and suspended it for 2 years.
He assaulted our 2A twice.
He shoved an expensive flu shot in our face
He initiated the first 2 covid mandates
Gave Fauci a presidential commendation on his last day in office (2021)
He tried to give black people $500 Billion (socialist "Platinum Plan)
His healthcare bill was Obamacare on steroids.
He's still funding universities

Trump is a true blue democrat, with socialist tendencies. Trump pushes left wing policies, and you RINO's don't even realize they're left wing policies.
The major parties have moved left the last 60 years or so. Trump was not elected as a conservative. I do not even know if a conservative can be elected President in this era. Having RINOS fronted to us over most of the last 60 years helped the Progressives massively. I would think that judges nominated though should be conservative. Cutting the budget is like a death knell to a politician and those around him, as we see the accusations, smearing and destroying of anyone who attempts it. The federal reserve raised the prime rate to double digits early in Reagan's term. That cleaned up the system somewhat. All of the social programs that started many decades ago have morphed into monstrosities. And it seems the people are not willing to give them up as they are used to it.

LOL.....I feel your pain in that regard, and will continue to do so till either I die or the GG Grandson gets out of private school.

That said I'd sure take advantage of a tax-deferred opportunity like that had it presented itself when he was born.

Good for the kid, good for the country.

Why are you being deliberately obtuse around the whole thing? Seems a no-brainer to me.

Things like this is only more proof that Trump is still a democrat at heart. It's only money, right? And we're only $37 trillion in debt. Right?

Trump Announces $1,000 Newborn Baby Investments In ‘Big Beautiful Bill’

Every baby born a U.S. citizen gets a $1,000 contribution into a deferred, low-cost index fund.

.....snipped

While the accounts start at $1,000 per child, they allow for $5,000 additional dollars to be added every year throughout the life of that child.
This is not a good idea in so many ways

for instance, do illegal aliens get $1,000 for every anchor baby they produce?

To be honest? My grandfather once told me never let government get the hook into you.

Good on you with your grandson, I'm duly impressed

Why not, they are US Citizens....At least for now. ;)

If that 1K matured at age 30 with no additions and with a average return of 4% the .gov would make around $150.00 on it through capital gains.

Did the left infiltrate MAGA, or is something switching in their brains whenever trump snaps his fingers?

The left has never promoted good investments that required the investees to be involved.

This is a bad idea and how far back is the back pay going to extend? So the poorer people having kids(which many here dont look positively on) will have more? Then we get to hear the whiny "snap $ is wrong", welfare is bad and on and on. Ad nauseum.

You guys will be cheering for universal income next week. Might even want to nationalize some industries.

Well in this case your grandfather was incorrect. I don't know why it's such a bad notion to save for the future these days.

Nah my Papaw was a man amongst men and would scoff at a 1k bait.

There are plenty of births occurring and if the workforce shrinks well the beloved corporate heads will have to figure out the problem they helped create.

GOOD selling points, find items that appeal to voters throw in some of these low end "GIFTS"
Then our elected government people can stuff their pockets, and there donors pockets.
on other stuff done on the quiet .
Just same old political stuff, been going on for??? years? or for ever?

This 18 year deferred-incentive-slash-give-away to Wall Street would do next to nothing to do with increasing birth rates.

People susceptible to financial incentives for childbirth are most concerned with childcare, diapers and formula affordability. Not college funds.
