Zelensky was making the point that Putin has a history of breaking diplomatic deals, and that they need action, not just words. Then it went off the rails with Vance telling Zelensky that he needs to be more thankful. Then they just kept saying that over and over.

It looked like that message was planned and they wanted to scold Zelensky on tv. I feel so bad for him.

Can Congress impeach Trump for this?

No unfortunately it's not a crime. If Congress could pass a resolution declaring Russia is an enemy, not a declaration of war, just a statement that Russia is our enemy it would then be illegal to say anything favorable about Russia. Maybe trump will fall for that.

However, if we lose Trump what happens to the struggle against illegal immigration, a runaway national debt, and China eating our lunch and putting our people out of work and stealing our secrets.

The thanking thing was just an aside. Vance got mad when Zelenski questioned their diplomatic capabilities. I dont think Zelenski meant to be insulting, but what he was saying was definitely insulting to everyone in the Oval Office who have been working their asses off to get a peace deal. I had no problem with Zelensky. Or the fact he would think the US would and probably should support his country's defense of their sovereignty intact.

It is not like he threw it up in Trump's face, that the only reason, Russia was able to start this war of aggression against Ukraine is because Ukraine agreed to turn over their nuclear weapons to the US for destruction, under an agreement brokered by the US, in conjunction with Russia, guaranteeing Ukraine's security from attack by Russia, even though, Russia had already broken the agreement and now possibly the US was, also.
