Trump Admits To Eating Hamburgers

Never saw that but NC is one of the few states I didn't visit often except flying through Charlotte back in the old days.

It is a great place just avoid the Democrat cities.

Being from Philly I was a celebrity where I lived. Well in the sense of people asking me: Is it true that in Philly whores work 2 blocks from the police station ? Do they really have a jail and court in Veterans Stadium, etc.

If you are into roadtrips you have to go to SkyLine Drive / Blue Ridge Parkway. If you had a car with a extra large gas tank you get on at Front Royal, VA and can drive to Asheville, NC without stopping and just winding thru the MTs. Ya end up at Great Smoky Mts Park...the most visited Federal Park in the Nation.

I lived 10 minutes from where this PIC was taken . On a clear day you could see Pilot Mt where Andy Griffith was from. All the names of places they used on the show were from arround there.

Must to have been nice to have your wife with while on duty.

My time in VA was limited to the western side.

I visited a friend in Norfolk that was in the Navy back in the 70's...that area sure has grown. He got a bar'd enlistment because he didn't make E-3. He told me ne did want to because if he did he would get transferred. He'd rather unload one plane than sit around all night (while on duty) and pay pinochle or sleep !

Very true! You seem well versed in the topic! My kidneys were damaged when my digestive system shut down due to pain medication and I was on dialysis for about 6 weeks. I still have minor issues with it.
I don't have any formal medical training other than basic first aid. But I worked for hospitals for years and you can't help but pick up some knowledge plus a lot of friends in family in various medical fields have taught me a lot and a LOT of curiosity has kept me reading

My wife and I married in college and she was there every day, 42+ years later. Why would you say that, just out of curiosity?

One of my favorites. I have maybe one a year. :)

I usually don't turn down other deserts served by my host either. But oh well. I've lived a long life, remain reasonably healthy despite some age related disability and figure something's got to kill me eventually. Might as well be great desserts. :)

I eat dark chocolate every single day. Not a lot, just a couple pieces a couple times a day.

Chocolate in its pure form is so much better than baked desserts--that's my opinion anyway!

My daughter's interest in medicine resulted from researching my grandson's leukemia, and she became an EMT and now a paramedic. She married a firefighter/EMT.

"Proper Hamburgers" actually. Regardless, this needs to be investigated.

There is no superior meat to beef. It's just the way it is; I don't make the rules.

Top tier: the filet mignon. It's like meat candy.

Hubby has little or no interest in medicine but is pretty good to follow doctor's orders unless he doesn't want to. LOL.

I certainly am no expert but have educated myself a good deal over the years. I have had a special interest in nutrition because of so many folks with special needs who eat at our dinner table--allergies, diabetics, Celiac, IBS, salt restricted, gout, various other intolerances etc. as well as how to cook and eat healthier in general. I have read up on everything so much I am a sort of semi expert dietician. I had one friend, an M.D., who would call me on advice on that now and then. She admitted the education doctors receive on nutrition in med school is pretty crappy.

But one thing I would caution everybody about. Be very careful about getting medical advice on the internet. There is just as much really bad advice and misinformation out there as good stuff.

But I am pretty confident an occasional hamburger won't harm President Trump. If it is prepared with fresh ingredients, good fresh lean beef, and mustard in stead of mayonnaise, it can be as healthy as most other meals we generally eat. Most especially if the bun is whole grain and the sides are raw veggies and (unless on a salt restricted diet) pickles and olives.

Don't forget the fries, but he makes up for it with a Diet Coke.

Yes it is. Dark chocolate is very good for us in reasonable moderation which certainly fits you. If it is heavily sweetened with refined sugar though, that does compromise the health benefits somewhat. Again I'm not a fanatic about it, but I do avoid refined sugar whenever I can despite having a powerful sweet tooth.

I do make hot chocolate with dark chocolate though sweetened with stevia/erythritol or monk fruit.

The President's and RFK's goal to replace high fructose corn syrup with cane sugar isn't a bad thing but it is the fructose, especially high fructose, that is inflammatory and cane sugar will not significant reduce that. Light corn syrup is cheaper to produce but does raise glycemic levels more while cane sugar is harder on the liver. Excess consumption of either isn't good for us.

I read a horrifying statistic that Americans consume about 80 pounds of sugar per year. A great deal of that is hidden in the food products we buy. I would guess if we cut that way way down we wouldn't see nearly as many maladies as we do.

If it's any consolation though I think the English probably are worse than we are in that regard. The French however while inventing the French pastries, consume less than half as much sugar as we do.

So roughly 75% of Americans are overweight while 2% of the French are overweight. Correlation yes, but evidence that sugar is the culprit?

The British obesity rate is half that of ours though they consume more refined sugar and as much processed food as we do so there is that.

I am glad we have a HHS secretary looking into all that.

Because when I was in the Army...all I did was drink beer and I missed out on so much because of that. I was stationed in Washington, DC and there are so many places I wish I went...while stationed there (eg: Ford's Theater)

Miss EX ran off on me a few years back after 15 years and completely out of character she was ugly about it. I told her from the start...I am nutty and you need to just ignore it when it manafest.

She promised she would...she lied.
