Trump administration says deportations threaten higher food prices

You have hit right on the problem.

Our immigration policy has been badly in need of reform for decades, but every time a bill is introduced, a handufl of racists in Congress kill it.

Even George Bush submitted an immigration reform bill, but it was killed.

The most nefarious example was the political murder of Eric Cantor, the Republican Whip, for daring to attempt the same.

Our quota system for immigrant farm laborers is seriously out of whack.

This is a basic supply and demand problem. Our farmers are not provided an adequate supply of workers to meet their labor demand, and so they have no choice but to hire illegals. To make matters worse, some dumbasses want employers like our farmers to be punished for doing so.

We need the quota system fixed.

I('ve been saying this for years and years, and that immigrants do the hard work Americans won't do.

Americans won't do the work for any price. Farmers have tried to no avail to lure American workers with higher wages.

No American is going to leave their suburban house to pick lettuce 50 miles away for one week, then travel 50 miles in the other direction to pick strawberries, and so on.

This is called MIGRANT labor for a reason.

I have told you people for over a decade we need immigration reform, but every time someone submits a bill, a handful of racists knock it down.

Even Republicans have tried and were shot down by their own party members.

Two examples.

Here's a bill submitted by George W. Bush to Congress 18 years ago:

Eric Cantor a Casualty of Immigration Reform

The Tea Party has proven it still packs a political punch in 2014, thanks to the debate over immigration reform.

In the most stunning upset so far of this midterm season, the second-highest ranking Republican in the House of Representatives lost his party’s primary on Tuesday. Eric Cantor, the man seen as next-in-line to become House Speaker, was handily defeated by college professor Dave Brat.

.
I know you will scoff at this fact, but about supermajority of Americans want a path to legal status and citizenship for illegal aliens. I have proven this time and time again.

That means a tiny minority of bigots are holding a supermajority hostage.

Get this: Donald Trump’s own Labor Department is straight-up warning that with fewer illegals sneaking across the border to help out, farms are running out of hands to pick all the fruits and veggies. Stuff’s rotting right in the fields because good ol’ Americans just aren’t lining up for those back-breaking jobs in the sun.
It amazes me that so much faith is put in Trump because he's "a businessman", when virtually everything he's doing is essentially the polar opposite of what any smart businessman does.

Immigration, tariffs, supply chains, budget -- everything is "shoot first and ask questions later", while Americans' lives are being negatively affected. In Normal World, a businessman audits, analyzes, plans, implements and monitors.

The goal can be absolutely reasonable, good and worthwhile. But the way you approach it is critical. Your approach can cause more harm than good. Neither Trump nor MAGA has ever understood that. Too complicated, I guess.

You’ve been wrong to date…One would think you’d reassess…

" Secular Left Paid By Theistic Socialists While Paying Theistic Communists To Usurp Identity And Autonomy Of Japhetic People "

* Do Not Underestimate The Capacity Of Large Numbers To Facilitate Stupidity *

Trump won in 2016 by appealing to the racists of America. They gave him just enough of an edge to win. He made the election about Mexicans and Muslims.
They're rapists. They bring crime."
"I'm calling for a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the United States".
Trump is an unmitigated racist and bigot.
By not correctly applying the term " thereof " in us 14th amendment is how illegal migrants get 18 years of social subsistence , as the term thereof means a subject of us jurisdiction and not simply subject to us jurisdiction , which applies to subjects by title in us legal immigration system such as citizens or as legal migrants with who a diplomatic agreement of receivership is in place .

There are 600 million in latin america who are willing and able to live with far less , who are over populated beyond carrying capacity of economy and environment , and the us does not need to replicate the same inefficiency .

The wide open borders and untracked inundation of the us and expectation of us taxpayers to educate and surrogate children of illegal migrants was obscene under democrats , so blame the anti-racist racist socialist democrats who did nothing and even worse , by tithing the theistic communists with an illegal migrant gravy train to grow the whole he see , while ignorantly pandering to contributions from sectarian supremacist theistic socialists of fictional ishmaelism who are doing their best to establish policy and perception for dissolution of japhetic peoples everywhere .

The sectarian supremacist adherent of fictional ishmaelism , with its edicts and tenets of creed for violence by doctrine , along with its +1400 years of homicide as additional evidence , should not be extended citizenship in the us so as to allow access to us voting booth and power of public policy through a populous majority foothold , which is hostile against independence of the individual as the basis of us republic , while visitation for cultural experience should be open .

Do we not already have enough trouble with the domestic cabal of sectarian supremacist , sanctimonious , sacrosanct , anthropocentric psychotic , puritanical perverts claiming to be christian nationalists , as we do not need similar beliefs with an even more profane addition of populous perspective that virtue includes violence to establish justice ?

MEANWHILE -- record number of homeless vagrants in blue cities across America.

Can you say - IRONY??

Oh. What machine do you operate?
I see them everyday. I am in rural Idaho. There is not one farm here that has field workers. Not one. The harvesters can clear 6 acres a day. And leave the ground prepared for the next planting.

Pack them up and ship them out. We could fit more in buses if we took out the seats and stacked them like cordwood.

Agreed.

I'm sure increase in cotton prices was an 1864 argument against ending slavery.

Would you have been swayed by it?
Pretty sure not many slaves wanted slavery to continue.

Illegals risk all sorts of hardship to come here and work here.

Lame analogy

That's why he went bankrupt so many times and left his bankers and investors poorer than when they swallowed his lies and gave him their money.

American banks won't even touch him any more.

Yep, and of course he was well-known in NYC for stiffing vendors.

But that's clearly all fake news in the eyes of the faithful.

Ok... let's be clear here so there are no misunderstandings.

If, after those who entered the country illegally or overstayed their visas are deported, we expanded the guest worker program, and resumed legal immigration, you would be happy with that.
Trump expanded the guest worker program in his first term.

But not by nearly enough.

It’s adorable when you guys try these lame appeals to emotion.

Your feewings aside, these people are CHOOSING to be here and are welcome to leave at any time. So, not slavery. Not even close.

So back to the question, are you good with raising food prices for everyone? Because high grocery prices didn’t work out so good for Democrats.
It's not going to be so good for Trump and the Republicans. Food prices are still climbing.

One more broken promise by Trump.

By the way, I do wonder how much of this image they have of him as a "great businessman" came from that reality teevee show he did.

As consumed by shallow celebrity as this country is (and how sad is THAT), they probably just bought the glitz and the showbiz without looking into it. The teevee show was all they needed. And look how famous some of these reality stars are.

As I've said all along, this has never been about him. It's been about what this country has become. He is just a result, a consequence.

Horseshit. Stop lying.

From the Idaho Capital Sun:

Farmers advocate for reform, workers fight for survival amid Trump immigration crackdown

Taber manages the operation with his son. But more and more, he has been pulled away from this work and into policy, traveling to Washington, D.C., to advocate for immigration reform that has been stalled for years.

“I have been there for the Goodlatte bill. I have been there for the Lofgren and Newhouse bill. I have been there for Sen. Crapo’s bill,” Taber said, ticking off more than six years’ worth of legislation intended to address immigration reform for agricultural employers and workers.

“We have not deferred to migrant labor or H-2A programs because we’re trying to save money,” said Andrew Mickelsen, partner of a large potato farm in Idaho Falls. “We’re doing it because that void is not filling up.”

.
And just for you, liar:

“If you guys think that you haven’t been touched by an illegal immigrant’s hands in some way, through either your traveling or your food, you’re kidding yourselves,” she said during floor debate.
