Trump Admin Saves Jobs, Kicks 1500 Non-English-Speaking Truckers Off the Road

So your contention is that they can’t read bridge height restrictions?

Are you ******* stupid?
Foreigners who cannot speak or read English likely cannot read bridge height restrictions.

Another problem caused by obama but corrected by trump. Back in 2016, obama simply stopped enforcing laws that say truckers must know english. He was not allowed to do that but he did it anyway because democrats believe non-whites are above the law!!

We have a Trucker Shortage in this country right now, not sure how eliminating 1500 qualified drivers who were allowed to operate in the US under NAFTA and the USMCA is helping that exactly.

Do tell, where have you met maga truckers?

And they couldn't understand or speak english?
I rv quite a bIt. Spanish truck drivers are everywhere

Licenced under Obama who ignored the DOT rules, they don't belong in trucking.

So1500 truckers removed from the trucking pool

That ought to ā€œstimulate ā€œ commerce huh?

Why not? Are they all getting into accidents every day? Or do they make most of their trips safely and on time?

There are 163,000 Truck accidents a year, most of which DON'T involve foreign-born drivers.

The biggest cause of truck accidents is not "being a brown person" but "putting in too many hours to make quota".

Out of 3.5million truckers in the US, probably won't even be noticed.

Except we are undergoing a driver shortage.

How bad is the truck driver shortage in 2024? American Trucking Associations (ATA) estimates a shortage of roughly 60,000 drivers in today’s market, with the shortage expected to grow to 82,000 by the end of the year.

Trucking industry forecasts for 2025 indicate that the trends impacting the trucking industry in 2024 are unlikely to reverse anytime soon.
As a report by NPR notes, a key part of the CDL truck driver shortage is retention. There is a retention issue in the industry at large, with an average annual turnover rate for long-haul truckers above 90% at many big trucking companies. While there are plenty of drivers who have been trained for the job, a surprising number leave their company (and the industry) due to poor hours and pay.
