haha I have addressed that question the last time you answered it. It was credited because minorities were discriminated against, therefore to right that wrong, AA was credited to try and correct that, and hire or accept minorities simply because of their race.
The 14th Amendment, like all the other Amendments, don't have law enforcement backing, they specifically state that Congress should pass laws to enforce the Amendments....thus Civil Rights Acts had to be passed numerous times since the passing of the Amendment...to give the President teeth in enforcing the Amendments. Had your Demaklan not been so oppressive, and racist, there likely would of been no need.
AA isn't just race based, traditionally that's how we view it, but it could also apply to gender..women..
Affirmative action in the United States consists of government-mandated, government-approved, and voluntary private programs granting special consideration to historically excluded groups, specifically
racial minorities or
women.
] The programs tended to focus on access to education and employment.
So if a white man, and black man apply for the same spot in a college, the college was to give AFFIRMATIVE ACTION to the minority based on their race. Discrimination.
What in the world did you think AA was?
