There is no fixed number of genders because gender is understood by medical and social science experts as a spectrum and a social construct , rather than a fixed biological binary. As many as72 genders have been listed thus far.

Now you're talking about sex not gender. Gender develops through an interplay of biological , social and cognitive factors with an internal sense of identity, begining to form in early childhood. Gender develops over time , sex is usually determined at birth.
