Toyota Touts Solid State EVs With 932-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charging by 2027

Well to solve tha and our housing crisis we are going to build affordable housing around malls. Instead of sears, jc penny, macys owning the biggest stores a hospital will be where sears used to be. There will be a Kroger where macys was. There will be everything those people need in the mall. So no need for a car. And those people who live in the affordable housing work in the mall. Repurpose malls.
WTF are you blabbering about?

Now you want everyone to live near a fucking mall? Idiotic “15 minute city” bullshit.

And WTF does that have to do with not having resources for EV vehicles?

Toyota advertised the BZ4X TWICE on NBC prime time. I dvr Abbott elementary but it’s prime time nbc. That’s not a cheap commercial. So you’re telling me they spent all that money to advertise a car that’s not available?

We don’t have the resources for half of Americans to drive EVs you idiot.

There isn’t enough lithium and cobalt in the world to do that, and we need those materials for computers.
Not to mention we would need to quintuple the electricity generation in the country.

File too big to post the video. I took a pic of the end of the commercial. Bz4x
Dude, Toyota has NOT produced a prototype vehicle that travels 932 miles on a 10 minute charge. Read the article I posted. They are at least a decade away from a vehicle that can do that and even then does not mean they can produce it at volume.

The commercial didn’t say how far it could go on a charge or how long it takes to charge. Just that it’s here.

First you liked Toyota not ford and gm. Now you hate Toyota but love Tesler. But you hate EV? Why would Toyota and Tesler waste time and money on this? Aren’t they smart like you?

Gen 2 is coming and looks much more viable.
As Gen 1 sales have slowed in the last year. now they may slow further as potential buyers wait for these hugely incremental stats.
That's the thing about tech: it gets much better over time. (as we've seen with solar and wind's app 90 improvement in efficiency and cost since 2010.

Toyota Touts Solid State EVs With 932-Mile Range, 10-Minute Charging by 2027

Toyota says it has found a technological breakthrough that will allow it to bring solid state batteries to market as early as 2027.
It's one of several advanced battery technologies that will underscore the brand's new EV focus as it pivots away from its former CEO's hybrid-centric strategy.

Solid state batteries promise greater energy density, higher electric range, and faster charging that puts refueling time on-par with a gas-powered vehicle. Scientists, researchers, and automakers have spent decades trying to crack the code on their commercialization, but so far no EVs have them, including Toyota's own offerings: the Toyota bZ4X and Lexus RZ.

.
Is it your contention that EV is a sound and environmentally friendly manner of powering our cars?

You have to present it to them the right way. If batteries can make us more independent and not at the whim of opec, should we develop alternative energy? Then they say yes but not to combat man made climate change. Clean air? Sure. Just not MMCC.

Nice try. But wrong answer.

We know (we don’t suspect, we know) that the mining for the materials for the batteries is environmentally awful.

We also know that disposing of those poison monstrosities is a nightmare for the environment.

But in between those problems we have another massive environmental problem: Powering the plants that provide the electricity.

Aside from the fact that the plants generally run on oil (which means that the pollution is simply transferred from the exhaust pipes into f gasoline engine vehicles to wherever the plants run we the oil to generate the electricity), the truth is that they ultimately do exactly nothing to reduce our reliance on oil.

Fuck EV’s. Not just Teslas. But Toyota and any other competitors.

The 15 minute city arrives.

What a coincidence, we watched that last night.
I was watching it on DVR. Was it aired last night? So did you see they played the Bz4x commercial TWICE? That's rare. Because of Elon, suddenly I'm a Toyota fan. LOL.

BZ4X *EPA-estimated 252-mile when vehicle is fully charged. starting at $37,070

A full charge on a Tesla can last between 250-400 miles. starting around $42,490

I'm going to wait for Trump to tank the BZ4X stock then buy up a lot of it. For when the next administration takes over. I hope Trump runs again.

Charging a Tesler 8-12 hours

Charging a BZ4X 30 minutes.

We stream it on HULU, so I have no idea. For now, hybrid makes a lot more sense than full electric, until the charging infrastructure catches up. Quid Pro Joe didn't do a real good job on that. How many did he make with billions of dollars, 7?

I didn’t claim they didn’t have EV vehicles you moron. I originally said they would not make their entire lineup all EV. And I doubt this solid state battery will happen, but we’ll see. I hope it does, but scientists have been promising this stuff for years.

yea yea, we all know now hybrids are the way to go, for now. You were smarter than Ford and GM and Toyota. You knew it before they realized it. Maybe you should be potus.

Is Trump doing a good job of it?

Of course. Efforts to force adoption of full electric cars are doomed until the infrastructure gets put in place. Why don't democrats understand simple things like that?

That's my opinion and if you recall, American auto manufacturers were caught flatfooted by the oil embargo of the 70's and watched as foreign gas sippers ate their lunch. Their leadership is human and just as fallible as the rest of us. The difference is, I don't get paid millions for my opinion, and I don't have millions of people relying on my expertise.
Is Trump doing a good job of it?
You'll have to ask in the next meeting. I'm pretty sure they'll have a Q&A.

Finally you guys are walking back your previous position. Thanks Elon. I give him credit for your enlightenment.

until the infrastructure gets put in place. Fine. Agreed. Sorry we tried to move forward too fast back when you were saying we shouldn't even fucking bother.
