Of course it is, just like other groups. Is it the place of the Boy Scouts to be in a Christmas Parade (queers ruined that proud organization), or VFW, American Legion, Daughters of the American Revolution, Elk’s Club, EAGLES Club, floats sponsored by local car dealers, public school bands (remember you liberals want separation of church and state) all in a religious parade? Of course it is their place. Because the parade is about local businesses. After the parade is biggest shopping day of the year as families are together, go out to eat, go spend money.

Don’t have the right to interpret history and culture. Hong Kong is fighting for democracy and freedom of expression. Liberals want neither unless it meets their Marxist litmus test. If these groups wanted to carry the red flag of the Democratic Party they are allowed to petition to march. But I’m sure they will be well represented by the Democratic Party candidates marching in the parade. Why can’t a historical group march?

My first impression is that the town fathers are wimps to shut down a parade that proudly flies a flag that symbolizes slavery instead of Christmas over a 'potential' threat. But then I remember that NC has been burnt by a parade in Charlottesville, and I can see their point. I guess if it were my choice, I'd forego the event too.
