I suppose some folks like holidaying in the danger zone. You know Afghanistan and Sudan. But most folk like relaxing round the pool for a few precious weeks. Enjoying a meal without being reported to "the authorities". Maybe buying a suit without having to show their papers.

She's not even travelling to the USA since covid, and is now shopping for a vacation property in Puerto Vallarta.

Another friend's parents owned a condo in the Villages in Florida. They put it up for sale last year, after Trump was re-elected. Another friend cancelled his trip to North Carolina for his graduating class' 25th Reunion, because university teachers are being advised not to travel to the USA, by our Foreign Affairs Department.

Travel bookings to the USA from Canada are down 40% over last year, and European tourism is down as well ICE continues to go after foreign tourists and those with VISA's who are in the country legally.

Its pretty grim. Next year is our 30th. We wanted to go back to Key West for the anniversary and take the kids and grandkids. Its not worth the bother.
