Trump Jobs Slump - Las Vegas sheds thousands of jobs amid tourism slump

Trump withdraws nomination of annother BLS head because of ongoing bad jobs report. Now he shut down government to prevent annother bad jobs report that was due to release this morning at 8:30am
/----/ Congress has access to those reports beforehand. If there was anything to make Trump look bad, they would have passed the clean CR—and you know it.

White House withdraws E.J. Antoni's nomination to lead BLS. President Donald Trump tapped Antoni to lead the agency after he fired former BLS Commissioner Erika McEntarfer following annother soft jobs report last month. William Wiatrowski, who’s been deputy commissioner since 2015, has served as the acting commissioner at the agency since McEntarfer was removed.

Trump is flailing attempting to blame everyone else for his economic disaster.

BS - The government employees have been on a 43 day paid vacation. Many likely took their family's to Vegas during this.

Seems the Biden Inflation of 4 years finally got tourists. Although Gov. Pritzker made out okay winning $1.5 million.
  • Las Vegas has seen a significant drop in tourism, with a reported 11.3% decrease in visitors during June 2025 compared to the previous year. Overall, the first half of 2025 experienced a 7.3% decline in total visitors.
  • Gambling Revenue: Despite fewer visitors, Las Vegas casinos reported an increase in gambling revenue. For example, revenue on the Strip rose by 3.9% during the summer months, indicating that those who do visit are spending more on gambling.
  • Factors Influencing Decline: Rising costs, including hotel rates and travel expenses, have deterred potential visitors. Additionally, a lack of major events that typically attract crowds has contributed to the downturn.

That's only for those vacationers that can handle the higher costs of hotels, food, and lack of better entertainment, all of which used to be the gimmick to come to Vegas.
