The PEanut Gallery might want to read Howard Blum's book Night of the Assassins published last year, on Hitler's assassination attempts on FDR, Stalin, and Churchill. Lots of fun facts in it as well. I don't think if they had managed to kill all three it would have changed the outcome much for Germany, since policy was already largely decided on that issue, but a lot of Cold War era history would probably be a lot different.

FDR refused to support or even encourage the German resistance. His demand for unconditional surrender made it much harder for the resistance to recruit people. His foolish demand also cost the lives of thousands of American soldiers in Italy when FDR refused to accept Italy's surrender for two months. If Hitler would have been whacked in East Prussia on 20 July 1944, its impossible to say whether his successors would have been more or less bloodthirsty than the H Man.

I doubt it would have made the Russians pause; maybe the western allies might have accepted a conditional surrender, maybe not. This was the second major war Germany had generated involving the U.S., and many probably felt it should be the last one. It worked out well anyway, since the West won the Cold War as well as the war against the Axis.

Everybody focuses on Lenin, rightfully so, he was the head muckity muck, but there were LOTS of Bolsheviks. I think, with the exception of Lenin most if not all of the core Bolshevik leadership were Jewish. I know Stalin was a Georgian, and not Jewish, but he and Lenin were the odd men out.
But this is the rub, and the irony of it all, that I think everyone ignores. Everyone talks about the 6 million Jews murdered by Hitler and his gang. However, no one ever talks about the insane murder campaign led by the Bolsheviks, who were mostly Jewish on the Russian people...their OWN people.
I think it is that way because it was under the guise of Socialism. But still, I gotta call it like I see it.

I personally think Democide is a way way waaaay worse crime than the killing of foreigners. The heartlessness it takes to kill people from your own culture, country is a next level of horrendous. Sure Hitler did kill, and imprison many of his own countrymen, but nothing to the level of Mao, or Stalin.
