Tim Walz's Stolen Valor Gets Worse, Posed as Afghanistan War Veteran

A contract is a contract

Walz signed for 6 but changed his mind after 4

He had to give up being promoted to e-9, but also avoided Iraq
So, if he didn't want to get promoted that's his prerogative, what's the problem with that. Did you serve in Iraq? Hell no.

What Veteran hasn't "carried a weapon in war" or was it a "weapon of war"? Was he a sergeant major or a command sergeant major? It's a word spin game. Don't get me wrong, I'm no fan of socialist tampon Tim but attacking him this way doesn't seem like a smart move.
It’s less attacking him than it is attacking his lies and fraudulent representation of military service.

Walz wanted to be promoted

Thats why he has lied about his true rank of master sergeant ever since

Congressman Walz has a personal history with the Red Bulls, having retired in 2005 as command sergeant major for the 1-125th Battalion of the 1st Brigade Combat Team

Get of this lame shtick. He had the rank, the responsibility and the pay. He was reduced in rank after he retired, not for cause, but because he didn't complete all the courses and didn't have enough time in grade, this happened to thousands of other people. Therefore saying he lied about the grade he retired in is bad faith bs.

You don't have to take my word. Take the word of the ******* national guard.

This is another one of those things. He served 24 years when you can retire at 20. Who are you to claim it's somehow dishonorable to quit after 24 instead of 26. Plenty of people have quit before their enlistment ran out. It's a VOLUNTEER army in case you missed it. And the service can and often does stop-loss people who they perceive as critical. That's the only way that contract matters. Namely that the army gets the right to refuse.

They didn't. End of story.

Walz had the position but not the rank

He was never more than an acting CSM

His final enlistment was for 6 years

Yes he could retire after 20 years but that doesnt mean he could walk away whenever he felt like it

Walz needed permission to retire before his enlistment was up

He had the FULL rank. Hence that rank being described in that release. That's why they call it a reduction in rank. They can't reduce you from a rank you never had. That would be called being maintained in rank.

You guys are simply denigrating a very senior enlisted man's service record for political gain. Counting on people not knowing how the military works.

Sure he could walk away whenever he felt like it. Hundreds of thousands of veterans have done the same. As I said, the military has a right to refuse such a retirement but that's about it.

We are repeating what Walz’ own fellow soldiers said about him first

Nope, you are repeating shit that's directly contradicted by contemporaneous press releases, BY THE NATIONAL GUARD itself.

No mention of having to comple your enlistment contract. Funny that.
Members who accumulate 20 or more years of active service are eligible for retirement.

The key word there is “eligible”

Walz couldn't just quit whenever he felt like it
