Ummmm, you are the one saying "words have consequences". That implies violence.
Words mean things, and people are free to give you the consequences of your words, but that doesn't automatically mean violence. Here are some things people can do to you because they don't like what you say:
1. Stop listening. That means no one is forced to stay around and listen when you're talking. They are free to leave the area or ignore you, and if they own the equipment that you're using to amplify your voice, take it away from you.
2. Deny you employment. An employer can check your social media posts and refuse to hire you based on things you've said.
3. Fire you. An employer is not duty bound to keep you on payroll if you're mouthing off while on the job. In fact, verbal sexual harassment is a quick way to the exit.
4. Fine you. An HOA can assign fines to you for displaying written speech on your property that violate the association's standards.
5. Leave you friendless. No one is obligated to stay friends with you if you say inappropriate things.
6. Drown you out. This is a favorite tactic of campus leftists, who will crowd a room where things are being said they don't like and raise a ruckus, hoping to silence the speaker.
7. Kick you off debate boards. The board is private property, and you are allowed to post with the owners' permission.
All of these are legal, non-violent consequences you can suffer for speaking.
