I have to wonder:

Would things have calmed down ?

Would there have been clashes ? It was reported that shortley afterwards, some of the crowd started menacing the press box until cooler heads prevailed ?

What would the GOP have done ?

Would the election have been delayed to give the GOP time to chose a new candidate (and of course, the same question comes up....what if Joe Biden dies of a heart attack on September 1st ?).

I am voting for Trump and I want him to win.

But I don't want a civil war.

I also can't think of who would take his place. It forces to me to really wonder what it is that DJT can do that nobody else can do.

Just wondering.

It is actually indicitive of how much the MAGAt cult has normalized a very similar anti-democratic (anti-American) philosophy and approach to the press as can be found in autocratic communist regimes like Russia, China, and North Korea.
First it starts like this, with a large enough cult movement disparaging, discrediting, and villifying the press for anything it reports that counters the cult narrative.
Next comes the jailing of journalists and the smashing and burning of studios.
Eventually, once the cult assumes total power, there is no more free and independent press. Only state sponsored "news."
At that point one of the core foundations of a free society has been destroyed and the rest will soon follow.
Vladimir putin and all the ither commies must be very proud of Trump and his cultroaches.

He's already lied in every state he's been in. Got that from a poster on one of these threads. Thought it was so appropriate. He's already trashed the Capitol. Generally I don't utilize all the gimmicks both sides use in their arguments. This one stood out as being so true it wasn't funny. trump's already disgraced the Capitol, it would be another crime to do it again.

The attorney general of Nebraska has already weighed in on this. He said as long as the Democrats haven't had their delegate convention yet he saw NOTHING wrong with it. It's totally legal. If it had been trump dropping out that would have been more of a problem because those delegates already voted. I might add that Nebraska's attorney general is a republican.
