A pilot says it's easier to fly than any other aircraft he qualified for. A maintenance sergeant said it was built with the support crews in mind. And here's how they train to fly it @ This is how pilots train to fly America's most expensive fighter jets

The full, interesting story is @ We spent a day with the people who fly and fix the F-35 — here's what they have to say about the most expensive weapons project in history

IMHO of 20 years ago, we should have kept all the old school F-16 class jets. Numbers always win.

Iran still has them.

Just like all the post-70's modern automobiles cannot be fixed without a computer, the older models are far easier to maintain. Imagine old school cars newly designed, while keeping as much of the original bite as humanly possible, rolling off the assembly line, instead of all this modern shit. They would rule the road forever.

Actually a lot of the F-16s in service today for various air forces are updated with modern computers for navigation and weapons systems.
