Check into this site for liberty and learning. It might seem a waste of time, but it is way too valuable to just shuffle off.

I have commented on the purpose of our Government. No it is not a democracy. Were it one, we all would be besieged with notices to vote. And I mean on every action by government. This is why the founders named it a Republic. A Republic has representatives to do all of your voting. All you can do is vote for all of them, including the president. Democrats call it a democracy to fool you. When you hear our press call us a democracy, they mean to a person only Democrats.

This does not belong in the US Constitution Forum like this does...

Mark Levin is a rightwing demagogue (all about partisan politics an ideology)

The idea that people who mention democracy are ignorant of the USA being a republic, is mere bullshit.

Our republic is a representative democracy. And I have listed mentions of democracy in writings of British colonists in American during the 1700s.

Origins and Foundations

The Senate and the Constitution

In 1787 the framers of the United States Constitution established in Article I the structure and powers of Congress. They debated the idea of a Congress made up of two houses. One house would be, in the words of Virginia’s George Mason, the “grand depository of the democratic principle of government.” To counter this popular influence in the national government, James Madison of Virginia proposed another house that would be small, deliberative, and independent from the larger, more democratic house. This became the Senate.

A Federalist Republic too.

It's really all about a part of the culture war crap. It's long been a talking point for the rightwing - this attack on the word "democracy," even as some of their leaders (even Trump) end up praising American democracy when it suits their narrow, partisan purpose(s).

And see, this discussion will be a political one, and not a discussion on understand the constitution.

Of the two people most communicating and commenting on the U.S. Constitution letter and intent, Mark Levin and Jonathan Turley are perhaps the best out there. Certainly excellent in their ability to communicate and explain things without using a lot of legaleze that goes over the heads of those of us not specifically trained in the law.

I hope this thread catches on as far too many are pushing the leftist/Marxist distortions of the letter and intent of the Constitution while true Americans/constitutionalists embrace the genius and effectiveness of original intent.

Far and away the constitution is a guarantee of our freedom. But wait, it also provides the path used by the democrats so they create a staggering new 350 laws per year. One need not wonder why we have over 3,000 Federal laws ruling over us. That is not freedom.
Mark Levin does most of the talking on this video. And is backed up by Mr. Arn.

Try this all posters. Use your search engine to find out how many Federal laws are ruling our lives!!! It will blow your mind. I think my figure of 3,000 is far too few but I got it using google.

Check into that site for what Levin frames as liberty and learning, might seem a waste of time. And it is, but it's also worse than that. It's an indoctrination masqued as history. Mark's long career is an interesting read.

A Trick Document That Allows Only the Government to Restrict the Government

Constitution-bangers want to elevate themselves over other Americans as supporters of a self-declared Higher Power that represents nothing more than the tyranny of powerful elitists.

I thought you understood more. What rules the Feds in your mind?

That is why I included the video. Understand it and talk about the constitution.

Mark Levin is not about "understanding" anything. He has been a known demagogue for a very long time. And proud of it. He is spinning a narrative for indoctrination of views.

Show that in the original documents please!!!

When it was created, the Constitution guaranteed 2 Senators per state. Senators were to bring back to DC the wishes of their own states. Somebody knocked that on it's ass when the public got to vote for Senators.
The Representatives were assumed to go to states to learn what the public wants. That is shit now.

Democrats hate him. But Mark is an expert on the constitution. They despise experts.

Read the Constitution, particularly Article I. The article talks about voting democratically to select representatives. That is what a school board does when it selects a superintendent, for example. Or the parties selecting a House speaker.

Mark Levin is the Jethro Bodine of constitutional lawyers.

Levin is not a well respected voice on the constitution. HE is a well know partisan ideologue and a demagogue.

He is no Jeffery Rosen
And you are a loyal Democrat partisan.
